Becca's POV

I wake up with my face a mere inch away from a white wall.

And an arm around my waist, holding me tight against a warm body.

My heart stops immediately as I try to figure out what the fuck is going on. Then suddenly I remember it all.

The party. The beach. And falling asleep in AJ's bed-

AJ.

AJ's arm is around my waist.

I'm in AJ's bed.

With AJ beside me.

He slept beside me.

Suddenly his grip on me tightens, and my lips part as I let out a breath when he groans tiredly.

And then I feel the warm body at my back turn into fucking stone. AJ goes so tense I don't know whether to take offence or not.

"Shit- fuck!" I hear him whisper, and his arm is removed from around me in seconds.

I narrow my eyes at the wall in front. I'm definitely taking offence to that.

Slowly, I feel him move away until the bed beside me turns empty. I hear quiet footsteps-

And then I decide pretending to be asleep is fucking stupid.

Turning around, I see AJ standing in the middle of his room, which is around a meter away from the bed, with his back to me, and his hands tugging at his hair.

"Good morning to you too," I say, announcing I'm awake. AJ jumps, turning around to face me with wide eyes.

I raise an eyebrow at him in question, and he just winces.

"I.." AJ trails off, and I sigh, sitting up on my elbows as I prepare for whatever he throws at me.

"I am so sorry" He mumbles.

I am dumbfounded.

I blink, completely lost. I then register that the look AJ is giving me is one of guilt.

"What?" I ask, not bothering to mask my confusion because I'm so fucking lost.

He lets out a breath, running a hand through his messy hair. "I meant to move to the couch- I swear but then- I just fell asleep" AJ explains, looking genuinely guilty.

"AJ, I'm not mad," I tell him, and this time he's the one dumbfounded. He's the one looking at me lost and confused. "You're not?" He mumbles.

I look at him bewildered. "Obviously not?".

He just continues to stand there, staring at me. I roll my eyes. "You think I planned to sleep in this bed? No. But I fell asleep. Clearly, the same happened for you" I shrug, wanting to show him that this is not a big deal.

Kicking off the covers, I stand up out of the bed.

"We're all good, okay?" I tell him, and he nods slowly, his eyes scanning my face to see if I'm lying. When he sees I'm not, he lets out a breath of relief.

I fight a smile as I watch him relax. "Aren't you sweet" I chuckle. I must say- I like this version of AJ.

It's hard to believe I've known this guy for just over a week.

If you had told me then that I'd end up enjoying this guy's company, I would have genuinely laughed at your joke.

AJ just chuckles. "You're gonna have to do better than that," He tells me, and the memory of our new little challenge from last night pops into my head.
