Becca's POV

"Why exactly are we here?" Clayton all but groans, causing him to get slapped by a total of five people - Charlotte being one of them.

"Stop being so doom and gloom," She scoffs at him. He rolls his eyes in response. "This family is too fucking big for a family holiday".

Ezra appears by Claytons side suddenly, his bag slung over his shoulder. "Agreed," He mutters.

Julian stops by Ezra's side and rolls his eyes. "We can book you an Uber, and you can go straight home if you'd prefer?" He offers.

Ezra throws his arm around Julians shoulder. "Shut up," He mumbles, pecking his husband's temple while said husband rolls his eyes yet again.

I glance around, my eyes searching through the crowd that is my family until I spot my Dad grabbing his bag from the trunk of one of the cars.

I walk over to him, and he notices me as I near. "Dad, are you sure this is a good idea?" I whisper to him, since now that we're here, the idea of a big family weekend holiday doesn't sound as appealing as it did before.

"I was against this idea," He whispers in response. I wince.

Oh fuck.

I sigh, turning around to stare at the big log cabin that will be our house for the next two days.

It suddenly doesn't seem as big as it once did.

I glance around at the thick woods surrounding the cabin, spotting a break in them. It seems to be a trail- Apparently, there's a lake at this place, so maybe that's what the trail leads to.

"Fuck- this is going to be a long weekend" Leo winces as he stares at the cabin.

Charlotte scowls. Next thing we know she's walking up the steps leading up to the cabin, just to turn to face us all once she's at the top. "Attention all of the assholes who are complaining about being here - let me remind you this was a girls' trip until you all started inviting yourselves - so shut up!".

Most of my uncles raise their hands in surrender.

My dad raises his hand. "I was forced here," He points out, which causes most to erupt in quiet laughs.

He hums in response. "And whoever drugged my drink...well, I won't ruin the surprise" He says, finishing with a smile that has a few of my uncles wincing.

Yes, the only way to get my dear ol' Dad on this trip was to drug his drink and toss him in the backseat of a car.

He's been surprisingly chill since he woke up on the plane, which is, rightfully so, scaring the shit out of everyone more.

Diana walks up the steps to the cabin, passing Charlotte as she goes. She pulls out a key from her pocket, and unlocks the door.

The kids run in immediately, pushing and shoving each other to get in first.

Natalie, Alex and Diana's daughter, walks in normally, talking to an older Riley.

Despite the few years age difference, Natalie and Riley are close friends. They mostly stick together at family gatherings- when Riley decides to come, that is.

She's not technically a part of the family - she's Camerons little sister. But she grew up around this family, so she's one of us now.

We hear screaming coming from inside, causing everyone to sigh. "Well, that didn't take long at all," Elijah mumbles, while Quinn leans into his side and groans.

The kids are pretty mad.

And at war, if I remember correctly.

Sam and Adriana declared war on Teddy and Jayden on the plane over.
