Aloras POV
Becca stops the car after pulling into a parking spot, and I jump out a second later.
I glance up at the tall fifteen-floor apartment building as me and Becca walk to the entrance. "The second floor, wasn't it?" I wince since my memory is shit.
Becca scoffs as we walk in the direction of the elevator. "The fourth floor. Idiot.." She mumbles, causing me to roll my eyes.
Someone is grumpy this morning.
Which is odd since Becca usually likes to brag how she's all rainbows and sunshine in the mornings, unlike me.
Inside the elevator, I press the button to the fourth floor as the doors close.
We're here on this shitty Monday morning to pick up a certain blonde.
Due to AJ's week suspension for fighting, Lynn asked us for a lift to school. I could hardly say no, not that I'd want to, so here we are.
When the doors to the elevator open, we walk out on cue and stop outside their door; number seven.
I knock on the door, and less than ten seconds later, it opens.
However, it's not Lynn's happy smile we're met with. Instead, we're met with AJ's blank stare before he turns and walks away, leaving the door open.
"She'll be out in a minute" He mutters, clearly even moodier than the bitch beside me this morning.
Speaking of which...
I glance at Becca beside me, only to see her staring at him with a small smile.
For fuck sake. Why she's so amused by this asshole's constant attitude is beyond me.
Not wishing to stand in a hallway any longer, I step inside their apartment, with Becca following behind me, closing the door once she's inside.
AJ stands in the kitchen, leaning back against the kitchen counter as he holds a bowl of cereal in one of his hands, using the other to shovel said food into his mouth with a spoon.
He doesn't spare us a glance, and he certainly looks tense for a person eating cereal.
Before I can think further about it, Lynn's bedroom door opens, and she steps out.
Her eyes immediately land on us as we stay standing by the front door. She shoots us a sheepish smile. "I'm so sorry I'm late".
"Relax. We're early" Becca assures her, while I flash her a small smile. She mirrors it, only hers is naturally bigger as she walks over to AJ in their kitchen.
He reaches beside him, and only then do I notice a second bowl on the counter beside him. He hands it to Lynn, who grins as it's handed to her.
"I love you," She tells him, looking overjoyed by a simple bowl of cereal.
"Fuck off" AJ mutters, not sparing her a glance either. Despite my better judgement, I find my lips pulling into a small smile.
I don't particularly like AJ. But he clearly loves Lynn- in his own little rude way. It is clear by the little gestures he does for her.
Lynn laughs at AJ's rudeness as usual as she sits on the kitchen counter behind her. "Do you two want any food? Or coffee?" She offers to us as she begins eating.
"We're good," I tell her, slowly walking over. Becca follows me by my side.
"What time are you off work?" Lynn then questions AJ. I look at him, only then realising he's dressed with his shoes on. I was wondering why he was up. God knows I take my school suspensions as days off. Which include lie-ons and not doing shit.
