Becca's POV
I sigh as I finish tying my shoelaces.
"You're so dramatic," Alora snorts, standing in front of my mirror as she applies mascara.
I roll my eyes, standing up off the bed and grabbing my phone. "Sorry I'm not overjoyed to be spending my weekend working on a stupid project. Unlike you," I mutter, making her scoff.
"I am not overjoyed. I'm just not throwing a tantrum," Alora says simply, and I scowl at her. Just as I go to speak, she turns and raises an eyebrow at me amused, silently telling me to go ahead and prove her point.
I glare and bite my tongue.
We didn't get our projects finished yesterday, hence why we were going over to Lynn and AJ's place.
This was Alora's idea, may I add.
AJ and I agreed to come to school early Monday and finish it- but then Alora came barging into my room twenty minutes ago and told me to get ready.
And here we are.
"Let's just get this over with," I mutter, and Alora hums. "You're wearing that?" She asks as she looks me up and down, and I narrow my eyes at her. "Yes?"
"You might get cold. Maybe you should throw on AJ's hoodie so you don't get chilly -"
I roll my eyes at her while she bursts out laughing at her own joke.
"Go fuck yourself" I mutter, not paying her any more attention as I walk out of the room, leaving her behind. She quickly catches up, however, still laughing.
I fight the urge to push her down the stairs once we reach it.
She has not let me have a second of peace since we left school yesterday. All because I borrowed a fucking hoodie from AJ.
We hear noise coming from the kitchen, and when we walk in we see Dad at the coffee machine.
"We're going out to work on our project," Alora tells him, and he hums. "Stay safe. Text me if you need me" Dad says the same usual response whenever we go out.
"You know, you should probably cut back on the coffee" I point out, and he simply shoots me an amused look.
Alora nods in agreement. "And then you'll sleep more" She adds. Dad hums as he picks up his freshly poured cup of coffee. "Bye girls" He calls out, and we both sigh in defeat.
***
Lynn opens the door with her usual smile on her face.
Dressed in black jean shorts and a pale grey tank shirt, she opens the door wider for us. "Welcome- please ignore the mess" She chuckles.
Without a word, we both step in.
She closes the door while we look around.
Right when you walk in, we're met with a little living room. A single TV with a two-seater couch right in front of it, that is an odd cyan colour but oddly works well.
On the wall to the right is two doors- I'm guessing to their rooms. While on the left is a little kitchen.
"Do you live alone?" Alora asks, obviously noticing only the two bedrooms and not more.
Lynn hums in response. "Indeed we do," She says, flashing us a smile. That has me growing curious. When they told us that they moved around a lot, I assumed it was because of their parent's jobs.
"I haven't told AJ that you're coming- in all honesty, I didn't know you were," Lynn says to me, before waving it off. "Don't worry- he won't care" She assures me, and I nod, not knowing what else to say.
