Aloras POV

I wake up, immediately met with the sight of a wooden roof.

I pause, beyond confused, before I remember I'm in a cabin and not my bed.

Rubbing my eyes of the tiredness, I very carefully get down from the top bunk I'm on before walking to the bathroom half asleep.

I'd kill for a shower right now, but unfortunately, our bathroom doesn't have one.

Disgusting. I know. So I opted for flashing some water in my face instead.

The next ten minutes are spent with me changing into clothes for today and putting on some makeup. Apparently, we're going out to the lake today, so I put very little on.

I take my hair out of the bonnet I slept in and tie my braids up into a bun. I want to avoid getting my hair soaked with lake water, thank you very much.

When I walk out of the bathroom, I hear a groan.

Glancing at Lynn, I see her face scrunched up, and she seems to be waking up. "Morning sleeping beauty," I tease her, standing just by her bed.

"I know I'm hot Alora, you don't need to remind me," She mumbles, rubbing her eyes with her hands.

While she wakes up, I can't help but stare at her. The covers of her bed are down by her waist, and her shirt with the big 'Scrooby-doo' logo on it has risen up, exposing her pale bare stomach.

Her hair that she put in a ponytail last night is now messy, with baby hairs sticking out everywhere.

I can't help but feel... she looks cute.

I take a breath just as Lynn lets out another groan. She then sits up and gets out of bed in one go.

My eyes widen since she's standing so close without even meaning to. I stumble back like a fucking idiot, only to hit my head against the frame of the bunk bed behind me.

I curse, my face heating with embarrassment.

See? This is what I mean when I say I keep giving Lynn shit to tease me over-

A hand cups my face.

A warm hand.

"Shit- are you okay?" Lynn frowns, looking worried as her other hand goes to the back of my head.

She then looks at her hand, and I bite back a smile. "Are you checking for blood?" I ask, and she nods her head, frowning further. "Yeah?".

That makes me laugh, and my embarrassment is long forgotten. "I just bumped it. I think I'll live" I whisper, causing her to roll her eyes. "Sorry for caring".

"Aren't you cute?" I tease, throwing the words back in her face.

Only Lynn doesn't seem embarrassed.

No, she seems amused as she chuckles, before taking a step closer to me until her chest is pressed against mine. "Aren't you just a little shit?" She whispers back, smiling.

I smile back, but it's weak. My head is spinning from how close she is, and from the hand that still cupping my cheek.

Her hand is kind of rough, which is funny since Lynn seems like such a gentle person at first glance.

"Your eyes are gorgeous" She randomly tells me.

I suck in a sharp breath since I think I had forgotten to breathe.

Lynn chuckles, just as her thumb strokes the skin on my cheek. "Sorry. That was a bit random" She says sheepishly.

I smile gently at her. Her own eyes are gorgeous. Lime green, but up close you'll notice specs of blue in them.
