OKAY i don't know about you guys, but I've always wanted a Paul and Sally wedding story. We never got one, and I've never found one on here yet so here you go.
You didn't ask for it, but there you go.
This story (I believe according to the PJO timeline) happens in between BotL and TLO, so Percy and Annabeth aren't actually dating, but they did have that one kiss on Mount St. Helens. So there's that. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
Percy couldn't believe his mother was getting married. Sure, she was married to Gabe, but he wasn't all that great. Paul on the other hand was amazing, and perfect for his mom. He was so kind, hardworking, and they matched each other's personalities so well. He always found a way to make her laugh, and he obviously really made her happy. And she made him happy.
So even though the world around him may be up in smokes (cough cough LUKE and his army) Percy was going to enjoy this day. It meant a lot to his mom, so he was going to embrace the moment while he could.
He thought it was going to be kind of boring because it was mainly just Paul's family and some of his mom and Paul's friends, but Percy was told that he could invite someone to come to the wedding. And the first person who came to mind was Annabeth. So when she showed up at the wedding venue, dressed in a blue dress with her hair done really pretty, Percy felt his breath fade. He was already kind of emotional because of his mom getting married- well remarried but whatever- so he hoping that Annabeth was going to be a little bit of a supporter.
And of course, that's exactly what she did. Maybe more than she thought she was going to.
"Hey Percy!" She said excitedly, waving as she stepped into the small house. Paul and his mom were getting married in a vineyard like setting, somewhere an hour or so out of the city. Apparently, it was one the place that Paul's parents owned, and his brother and cousin (he thinks) got married. So, it was kind of a family tradition to get married there.
Family was a funny word.
It was always just Percy and Sally. Gabe was around, but he was more of a pest than a family member. And yes, Percy met all of Paul's huge family and they surprisingly took a liking to him the second they met him. Paul's parents, Cecilia and Bill, fell in love with him almost right away. They said that they had never met a more talented boy than him before (which he didn't know what actually meant what he appreciated it) and they also took a very big liking to Annabeth. He actually heard Cecilla ask his mom if he and Annabeth were a couple yet. His mom said no of course, but Cecilla shook her head, saying 'give it a year. They'll be head over heels for one another.' Percy didn't honestly know if he wanted her to be right or not.
Annabeth was his best friend (besides Grover of course) and he didn't want to ruin their friendship. But he also knew that there was some sort of connection between them. Whatever it was, he wasn't sure. But he was hoping to maybe figure it out soon.
"Hey Wise Girl!" He replied, watching as she put her bag down on a sofa in the sitting room. "Thanks for coming by the way."
"Are you kidding?! I would never miss this for the world!" She beamed, walking into the kitchen and looking around the small house. It wasn't very big, just having a sitting room, a kitchen, and two rooms on the opposite side so the bride and the groom could get ready in separate rooms. The other big reason why Annabeth was at the wedding was because Sally didn't just let Percy invite her to hang out with, but to be her maid of honor.
His mom said that Annabeth was perfect for it. And that she had grown quite fond of her over the years. When Annabeth found out that his mom wanted her to be the maid of honor, she started to cry, giving Sally a huge hug and telling her how much of an honor it was to be a part of the wedding.
