The sunset on the horizon, causing the whole world shift. The sky was painted beautifully with shades of gold, orange, and pink that sparkled onto the naval blue sea. Percy Jackson, only being the age of nineteen, had led his girlfriend towards the edge of the boardwalk, where the soft waves crashed against its wood.
Percy had brought his girlfriend to Brooklyn, New York for the weekend for their five-year anniversary. Annabeth Chase, the love of his life, had been his best friend ever since he was twelve, and ever since the day he met her, he knew that he loved her dearly.
Percy led Annabeth towards the end of the boardwalk and sat down on the edge. Annabeth followed his lead and crouched next to him, looking nervous. "What's up, Wise girl," Percy nudged his amazing girlfriend, making her laugh.
"We need to talk," Annabeth muttered seriously. Percy wrapped him around her waist, pulling her close.
"Whatever it is, I'm here to listen," Percy smiled brightly, trying to lighten up the mode.
"Okay. But you have to promise you wouldn't get mad," Annabeth said. Percy nodded. "I'm-I'm pregnant,"
"Wait, you're what?" Percy looked at her shocked. "Could you repeat that,"
"I'm pregnant, Percy," Annabeth looked down at her feet worried.
"I'm gonna be a father?" Percy jumped up. "I'm gonna be a father!" Percy said as he jumped up and down, beaming his million-dollar smile. "And, you're gonna be a mother!"
"You're not mad?" Annabeth questioned.
"Of course not! Why would I ever be mad at you?" Percy said, grabbing Annabeth's hands and pulling her up to her feet. "I'm the happiest I've ever been!"
"Really? I-I thought you were going to be mad at me because you weren't ready and you were-"
"Of course not!" Percy grinned. "We're gonna be parents! Together!" Percy spun Annabeth around, placing her carefully on the ground. Annabeth felt tears spill softly down her cheeks as Percy enveloped her in his arms.
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"For just being you. And loving me,"
"Of course, Annabeth," Percy assured her. "I will always love you. No matter what," Annabeth smiled against his chest, and the couple had slowly made back to Percy's car, and the rest of their weekend had been perfect.
