When Percy woke up, he knew he was screwed. He woke up to both his daughter, Sophia Grace, and his wife, Annabeth, sick. This was a nightmare. "Percy!" Annabeth called from the bathroom. Percy climbed out of bed, and dragged his way towards his wife. only to see her skinny arms wrapped around the toilet.
"Are you okay?" Percy asked worriedly as he walked over to his wife, wrapping an arm around her. Annabeth nodded.
"Sophia Grace and Luke were sick all night, and I guess I got the sickness too," Annabeth shrugged. "They're finally asleep though."
"What do you need?" Percy said as he kissed Annabeth's forehead. "Water, medicine, pillows? Whatever you need let me help you,"
"Can you just take care of the kids today?" Annabeth asked. Percy nodded. "Of course," He slowly got up and walked out of the room, only to hear the whining of his daughter, Sophia Grace, from her bedroom. He sighed and walked in, only to see his six year-old daughter shivering under her covers. "Daddy?"
"Hey, sweet girl. You okay?" He said as he knelled by her bedside, and placed a hand on her shoulder. The little bundle whimpered and shook her head. "No, I-I don't feel so good. My tummy and head hurt, Daddy," Tiny tears rolled down her face. Percy hated seeing people cry, especially his family.
"I'm so sorry, baby girl. Can I get you anything?" Percy mumbled as he kissed Sophia's forehead. "Water? Food? Any more blankets?"
"Can I get another blanky please?" Sophia sniffled. "And so water?"
"Of course," Percy got up and quickly sprinted towards the lining closet and snatched a cozy blanket and dashed into the kitchen for a glass of ice water, then zoomed back to Sophia Grace just in time for her call his name again. "Yes, Sophie?" Percy asked, out of breath while he placed the fresh cup of water on her bed stand and the blanket over her.
"Can I watch a movie, please?" Sophia gave him the baby seal eyes, which Percy gave her a nervous laugh. "I mean, I guess so," He switched on the television sat and pulled out the basket of DVD's. "What would you like to watch?"
Sophia pointed towards the box. "Ratatouille!" She cheered. Percy nodded as he placed the disc in the DVD player. "All good?" Sophia Grace gave her a shaking thumbs up, then coughed.
"Okay. I'm gonna go see how Mommy's doing, I'll check on you in a little, okay?" Percy asked. Sophia Grace nodded and Percy walked out of the room. "Hey," Percy gave a nervous laugh and ran a hand through his hair as he walked up to the pile of pillows and blankets on the other side of the bed. Percy saw his tired wife peacefully sleeping, her chest moving up and down. He walked up and kissed her cheek and tucked her deeper under the sheets, and left the room.
Later the afternoon was mainly spent of Percy and little Luke chilling while Sophia Grace and Annabeth were resting. And it wasn't until he finally finished giving Luke a bath and put to sleep, did the dishes, and took out the trash, and started the laundry that he went back to his bedroom, and saw his wife sitting on their bed, reading some architecture book, her tied up in a messy bun. "Well look whose feeling better," Percy laughed as he crawled in next to her.
"Yeah, I guess so. My stomach still kinda hurts but at least I don't feel like I need to go into the bathroom every two minutes." Annabeth said as she scooted closer towards Percy, rest her head on his shoulder. Percy immediately wrapped his arm around her waist, cuddling closer to her side.
"Well that's good to hear," Percy murmured as he laid himself and his wife on the bed, and protectively enveloped his arms around her, securely keeping her right there beside him. "You know, it was kind of nice to just hang out with Luke though." Percy chuckled softly.
"That's always good. You guys probably needed it." Annabeth anwsered back as she nestled her face into his chest, taking in a deep breath.
"Agreed." Percy yawned and was about to close his eyes when a small voice came from the corner of the room. "Daddy?" Percy sat up, it was both his kids.
"Yeah, what's up guys?" Annabeth said as she rubbed her eyes. "It's dark." Luke cried out as he ran towards his parent's bed and climbed up into between them. "And we wanted to sleep with you guys,"
Percy and Annabeth both laughed. "Of course. C'mon up here," Percy patted the bed and the Jackson family all crammed up together, and all fell asleep quickly, all at peace...
