30th October, one day before the brawl

Rian is with the Haitani's. Well, they barged in to her house that is. In the earliest morning, she heard knocking on the front door, and someone was ringing the doorbell like crazy.

"WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU TWO HERE?!"

"Oh, don't be so aggressive. We just needed shelter for two days."

"BUT YOU INTERRUPTED MY SLEEP?!"

"Who the hell's still asleep at 11?"

"GET THE FUCK OUT!!" Rian who just got up on the wrong side of her bed, she tried kicking the brothers out of her place. It doesn't seem to be working, though. She even had a pan in her hand.

"Wait wait wait wait. Please, just two days and we're going back." Rindou tried persuading the angry girl on letting them stay.

Rian sighed, pointing the brothers with the pan in her hand.
"And what for? Can't you get somewhere else to stay, like a hotel?"

"Hotels are expensive... It's the end of the month ya know?"

"That doesn't answer my first question."

"Tomorrow's big brawl. We wanna know who's gonna be the winner, one big step forward on ruling Tokyo." Ran said. Though he's already sitting on her couch, hands on the remote, wanting to turn on the TV.

"Huh... Is this broken, Kiri? It's not functioning." He asked as he kept on pressing the buttons on the remote control.

"It is, and you're probably making it worse." She sighed, snatching the remote off his hand as Rindou sat down beside his brother.

"Are you going?" Rindou asked.

"Huh? Where?"

"Tomorrow's brawl duh. Where else can you go?"

"I'm still thinking bout' it... I promised to not get involved, though." She said, walking to the kitchen which was just beside the living room. She poured herself a glass of milk from the fridge and gulped it down.

"Do we not get drinks as guests?" Ran asked her. Sitting on the couch like he owned this place.

"You better die of thirst."

"But Kiri, you're just there to watch. It doesn't count as interfering." Rindou stated his point.

"And, as a delinquent, don't you wanna know which gang's gonna take over this place next?"

Rian went silent for a few seconds. He had a point. Of course she wanted to know who would win. But it's also that she didn't want to see her friends fighting each other. Especially when Baji and Kazutora will be fighting against Mikey.

"To be honest, as Mikey's friend. I don't want to admit it, but I don't think that Toman's chances of winning is high. Valhalla's definitely not planning on fighting fair."

"Well, we know damn well bout' that. Valhalla's not the kind of gang to fight face to face."

Rian's expression died down. She knew that Kazutora hated Mikey, to the fact that he wanted to end him with his own hands. He meant it, and she knew it. Although Mikey is called the 'invincible', she couldn't help but feel worried.

Ran noticed her expression.
"Relax, he's not called the 'invincible' for nothing. You're fully aware of that."

"Guess you're right." She shrugged and sighed. Throwing the brothers two cans of beer from the fridge.

"That's all I have for now."

"Woah, how'd you get these? Aren't you like still a kid?" Rindou asked, as he popped the can open in his hands and started gulping it down.

"I have my ways. There's more coming soon."

"Huh?" This made the brothers confused.

The doorbell rang after this. Rian opened the door, to see two man holding plastic bags, handing it to her.

"Here you go..."

"Just in time. Now, shoo." She grabbed the bag and immediately slammed the door shut. Turning to the brothers, she placed the plastic bags on the coffee table in front of the Haitani's. Sitting up to see cans of alcohol in the bags.

"Just who are they?" Ran sweatdropped. Referring to the men at the door just now.

"My 'ways'."

"Aren't you scared that they'd get revenge on you?" Rindou asked, pushing his glasses.

"They've tried. And failed with another 5 men of theirs. They broke the door handle down so I made them run my errands for another 3 years."

"Lucky that I've stopped Ran from breaking the door."

"Oi, what the hell?"

Rian sighed, sitting down on the couch. Now beside them.

"I've decided." She suddenly spoke, making the brothers wonder.

"What about your promises?"

"Promises are meant to be broken. Besides, just like what Rindou said, just there to watch doesn't count as interfering."

The brothers looked at each other after her words. They clearly know that she's just worried about her friends fighting. She's that one friend trapped in the middle. When two of them fights, it's non of her business. And she has no rights to butt in either. But the feeling of being worried about the two friends are still there, wondering if they could get along again like the old times. It's suffocating, really.

"Look, I get that you're worried and all. But it's a conflict between two gangs. You alone have no rights to step in and end it." Rindou said after noticing her fiddling with her fingers.

"I know that much, alright?" She couldn't help but to think of Kisaki. What is he planning? Staying at the back, watching everything happen.

"Hey, Kiri." Ran called out to her in the middle of her spacing out.

"What?"

"Your place's boring."

"Well then get the fuck out."

"Wanna play poker?" Rindou asked the two, taking out poker cards from a cabinet beside the television.

"Don't make this your home!!"

"Whatev's! Let's start playing already!" Ran said, already got his bets out on the coffee table.

"I'm gonna take the both of you down, a peg!" Rian slammed on the table and sat down with her bets in front of her too.

"Have you even got money to lose?"
Rindou asked as he started giving out cards.

"Oh, you'll see soon."
