Chapter 5

Bryan's POV

Everything seemed calmer at the house since Inpu and I made our deal, and I was even starting to finally see it as home.

I had started to use most of my time to fix up the garden since most of the flowers in it didn't seem the most healthy.

Seeing as most of my time was spent in the garden, like today, Inpu would often come home when I was outside.

He walked through the gate while I was watering the last of the plants and decided to surprise me by slowly wrapping around me.

"Are you doing this for a reason or just to stop me from overdoing it?" 

"Both, I want to keep you from overdoing it, plus I want to show you some affection"

"Is that what the feeling in my stomach is?"

"Those are butterflies, it just tells me that you like it"

He pulled me closer and started to kiss around my neck which made me laugh.

I noticed that he was enjoying my laughter since he went from just kissing to slowly nuzzling me at the same time, which made me feel safe.

"How did I get so lucky to get you?"

"Maybe its just my karma finally coming to help me after so many years of suffering"

"Was it worth it?"

"Not sure, getting married at 18 wasn't my original plan, be if you keep proving to be caring then I'll say yes"

"Speaking of the wedding, can we go inside so I can talk to you about a few things for the ceremony? I had to talk to my parents about it today and I figured there were a few things you'd want to know"

"Alright, should I expect anything bad?"

"There is only one thing I'm iffy on if you'd be ok with it, everything else I feel like should be fine, its pretty much just what I have to follow since I'm a demon"

Inpu turned me around and picked me up before walking me inside.

Once we got inside, he placed me on the couch while he went to put something away before he came back to me and placed me on his lap.

"So before I tell you what the ceremony will be like, do you have any questions about it?"

"With me being only 18, is there anything special I'd need to do based on the fact I'm much younger than you?"

"Best way for me to bring it up is going to be when I discuss a few things later since there is one thing, but it mixes with another thing"

"Alright, then what should I know for the ceremony?"

"Well, regardless of how much I tried to convince my parents not to do it, they're making me do it in ritual style"

"Ritual style being..?"

"A dimly lit room and a pentagram on the floor and instead of having someone read out what will happen in the ceremony, we have someone read out a ritual for you and once its done, we'll be married"

"Can I ask why I need a second ritual done?"

"This one won't harm you, it'll just give you a magic depending on what your soul says will fit you best, plus it'll give you a more permanent mark to show that you're mine till the end of time"

"Alright, you said there was a part you were iffy on, was the ritual it or is there something else?"

"The ritual I'm not worried about only because I know you are used to that kind of stuff plus it won't hurt, its the second part that needs to be done"

"And that is?"

"Regardless of how ready you feel about our relationship, we have to have intercourse the night we get married"

"Ok, wasn't expecting to hear that, why?"

"Because part of the ceremony is granting you immortality so one of us never has to be alone, and the only way to grant that is intercourse during a blood moon, which is usually the day its set up on for most demons"

"So theoretically, I'm not saying I'd ever do it to you, but lets say we decided to change the day, how long would we need to wait?"

"Considering the next blood moon is in three months, we'd have to wait at least five years since they are pretty rare in general let alone in the demon realm"

"Alright, so I'm guessing we have three months till we're married then?"

"Exactly, and in that time, I'm going to try and shower you in love that you deserve so much"

"Then I'll try to get used to it so I'm more comfortable"

"Don't force yourself, you've told me before that you want to take things slow, other than what we need to do the night of the ceremony, I'll go at your pace"

I snuggled up a bit, realizing I finally had someone who wasn't going to leave me for dead.

After a bit, Inpu started to kiss my forehead while I started to giggle, which I admit, was the first time I think I had ever laughed knowing I was safe to do so.

The entire time Inpu had me laughing, every glance in his eyes I could see he seemed happy with something, but I couldn't tell what.

"What are you smiling at?"

"The smile and happy sounds of someone I know survived a situation that was next to impossible"

"Did you ever expect someone like me?"

"Well, I wanted someone who would be patient and loyal to me, but I think I got someone better than what I asked for"

"So, I know this is kinda out of no where, but where do you go every day?"

"Typically I go to meet with a few of my friends or deal with people trying to summon demons and get me, I want to spend more time here, but another demon has been watching me like crazy and I don't want to harm you"

I just nodded since I didn't know how to respond, which I could tell Inpu didn't like my response to it.

"Hey, I promise you nothing bad is going to happen to either of us as long as I'm here, please just keep smiling for me"

He ended up putting one of his hands on my cheek and kissed the other cheek before pulling me in for more cuddles.

"How about this, when I leave tomorrow, I bring you with me, that was I confuse the person who's been watching me and I can introduce you to a few people"

"Alright, will me being part angel be an issue for any of them?"

"If it is an issue for them, then they can tell me about it, if they take it out on you then they know they won't wake up the next day"

I didn't respond, I just have a slight nod while I continued to cuddle up.

All I wanted to do was stay like this, I just felt safe.

Eventually, Inpu managed to convince me to get up so we could get something to eat before we eventually went to bed since we were starting to fall asleep from how we were snuggled up, so we quickly ate and went to bed.
