Chapter 47

Inpu's POV

Once the triplets and Artemis were out of the house for school for the day, I marked Crystal as absent before telling her to shift into her jackal form while I opened a portal to the demon realm.

We quickly made our way in, just making sure we were as quiet as possible to make sure we weren't found.

Crystal just sat on my shoulder while I walked around the city, just trying to make my way to the meeting hall, just to try and get some kind of help, no matter how small it may be.

The meeting hall was empty when we got there, so I began to snoop around a bit to figure out if my father was showing that he had full control over our territory at the moment.

There was nothing of note left there, but around the time I finished up, Ashara walked in, seemingly shocked to see me.

"So what's with the dog?" [Ashara]

"She's not exactly a dog, but that's not important right now" [Inpu]

"Then what do you need right now?" [Ashara]

"Help getting Bryan back, Anubis has him prisoner and we need to get him back" [Crystal]

"Are you insane? That's practically suicide, if Anubis has a prisoner, he's not going to give them back" [Ashara]

"We know, that's where you come in, we need you to lure him out, say its a territory meeting so you can get something, you don't need to give him anything, just buy us enough time to get Bryan out of here" [Inpu]

"No, Inpu, you don't get it, if Anubis has a plan already planned out, you won't be able to get him out until after its over and done with, what is so important you need him back this second?!" [Ashara]

"BECAUSE I CAN'T LOSE HIM AGAIN, OK!?!" [Inpu]

"What..?" {Ashara]

"I've already messed up a lot, I've messed up to the point I almost lost the love of my life, if I lose him again...I don't think it would take me that long to join him..." [Inpu]

"How long has this been weighing you down?" [Crystal]

"Longer than I'd like to admit, if something happens to Bryan again, I might go on a killing spree ending with myself" [Inpu]

"Alright, I'm in, but you know better than me that it won't be easy, any idea how tight this time frame is?" [Ashara]

"Here's the sucky part, its about a three day window, so if you can get me an opening tomorrow, I'll make it worth your while" [Inpu]

"And what would that entail?" [Ashara]

"How about a small amount of territory and the next ten sacrifices I get as long as everything goes well" [Inpu]

"Deal, I'll let you know when I am able to get you an opening" [Ashara]

"Thank you, Ashara, I will await your call" [Inpu]

He nodded before I left to check on my house.

I suppose I should explain why I offered territory over anything else, and to keep it short, that's how demons keep their power.

My father and I shared territory because we were related, so this made us very powerful, so getting even a single block of territory from us was seen as generous while for others it may seem like nothing.

Once I got to my house, I locked the front door and Crystal shifted before I called for one of the maids to grab us each something to eat.

We just sat at the table, but the second food was put on the table, I watched Crystal wolf down what she had in front of her, she was clearly hungry.

All I did was let out a small laugh before I opened my book and started to read a book I was looking over last night.

The two of us finished eating after a bit and just went to sit in the living room, after all, there wasn't much we could do at the moment cause we had to wait for Ashara.

"So, was what you said about dad true or were you lying to get him to do what you wanted him too?"

"It was true, look, I may not have had good intentions when I met your father, but I think you've seen more than the others that I truly love your other father"

"I know I've seen it, but I can never tell if its real or not, you did trick him into thinking you loved him right away so you could use him, I think it would be understandable that I'm a bit hesitant"

"And I don't blame you for it, you are like me that way, you see what isn't real and speak about it, and if something seems fake or too good to be true, you don't let that go unanswered"

"Wow, you can tell when something is fake? Who would've thought"

"Don't be sarcastic with me, you know most of the time I lie for my own gain and that I haven't done that in a while, so get off my tails"

"I'm just saying, you lie enough its easy for me to tell, so you may want to change it up if you plan to keep your power and territory"

"By the time we leave I'm gonna end up sharing my territory with you, won't I?"

"Yeah, probably, hey, you're raising a demon, expect it to happen"

"And here I thought you were more of an angel, you fit the description perfectly"

"But I'm only half angel, meaning I'm able to have the perfect looks, but I only need some deception, most people just listen to me because they fall for me"

"God you really are my child"

We shared a good laugh for a while, just kind of talking about whatever we could for think up until we got a call from Ashara.

He managed to get a meeting with my father for tomorrow at noon, so I would have an almost perfect opening.

Since Crystal was missing school today, we agreed that tomorrow while I get Bryan abck, she'd stay home with the triplets and Artemis to displace any fears they had while I was gone and as to why Bryan also wasn't home.

We left the demon realm shortly after the plan was fully set, after all, we'd both need sleep for what we had planned tomorrow.
