Inpu's POV
Upon waking up, I knew exactly where I was and I did not like it.
I woke up in the cult's ritual room, meaning my father had the ritual prepared, but instead of doing it in private like I did, he was making it an entire cult event.
It took a bit, but I finally managed to see Bryan somewhere in the chaos, but I felt horrible about it, he seemed terrified, as he rightfully should.
Everyone was talking, I was being held down by two guards, and I saw a few of them taunting Bryan, which just made me want to rage, but my father had a timer on his magic blockers.
Since I couldn't use magic until after the ritual knowing my father, I let out a loud bark that the cultists in front of Bryan clearly heard and quickly walked away because of it, but that's when it hit me.
My father hadn't told anyone why I was being held back by guards, to the cult, they were there to prevent me from doing something dumb.
They wouldn't move Bryan because of the ritual, but I could at least get him to look at me which normally calms him down.
It didn't seem to work as well here, I didn't expect it to, but he was at least making small silly faces at me to show he was sort of calming down.
I kept taking a look around the room to find an out, because while I could brute force it, the second I try, my father probably could just use his magic to prevent me from getting Bryan, but I couldn't do that with the guards behind me.
All I needed was three minutes, but no matter how I tried to calculate it, I couldn't find an opening that would work.
Eventually, my father walked next to me and whispered to me that now there was nothing I could do, which made my heart drop.
The ritual quickly started, and all I could do was try to scream to Bryan, but the magic around him was loud, so I wasn't heard.
Despite the noise in the room from the chanting and magic, I could hear Bryan scream in pain, I knew he couldn't handle this, and if he could, he wouldn't have that long.
What happened in minutes felt like hours, and every second that passed, I heard Bryan yell out more and more, until...there was no sound...
The magic cleared up and I saw Bryan standing there, legs trembling, but after a few minutes, he closed his eyes and started to fall back.
I quickly got out of the hold the guards had on me and grabbed Bryan, just gently lowering the two of us to the ground.
He thankfully had a pulse, but it was slow, I had to get him out of here and to the hospital quickly.
The cultists and guards moved to the side of the room as I sat there, holding my husband's nearly lifeless body.
"If you'd like I can have the cultists prepare the medical room for him"
"He doesn't need the medical room...he needs a hospital"
"You wouldn't make it in time, we both know that"
"Is that why you did it here? Cause you knew my portal wouldn't be able to open fast enough if he did live?"
"That's part of the reason, yes, are you going to take my request or no?"
"No, just leave me alone, if my husband is about to die, I don't want to make him spend his last moments in pain, I'm going to give him the comfort he deserves"
My father was clearly getting worked up, but right now, I didn't care, I just held my husband in my arms while I finally gave up holding in my emotions and started to cry.
I don't know how long I sat there crying, Bryan's pulse wasn't getting worse, but it also wasn't getting stronger.
My eyes were closed the entire time, but after a few minutes, I heard my father let out a shocked gasp, so I finally opened my eyes.
What I saw when I opened my eyes was beautiful, there was a warm, yellow light circling the room, but more specifically, where my father was standing, and that's when I saw it.
All angels had a symbol similar to a demon symbol, but theirs were golden as opposed to a demon's red, and theirs only appeared when someone they deemed dangerous was proving it.
Bryan suspected my father was worse from the start, I saw how he reacted with my father, why didn't I see it coming?
My father began to let out a scream in pain, telling me that Bryan make note all those years ago, and before I knew it, my father was slowly turning transparent, a sign a demon was dying.
I heard my father start begging for my help, but I just stood up with Bryan still in my arms, and right before my father fully passed on, I had to speak my mind.
"Maybe if you had some actual love in your heart, you wouldn't be here, you lost your power because of your own failure, you lost me as your backup because of you, everything bad that happened to mom, Magnus, and I happened because of you, goodbye, dad, see you in hell"
He let out a large, painful scream, before I saw his power, just sort of floating there before circling me.
I felt my father's power connect with me, but in the moment, I didn't care about the large power boost I got, I bought myself enough time to get Bryan to a hospital.
The cult tried to stop me as I left, but I just gave them the most angry expression I could to tell them I'd be bac on my own time, but right now, I had to go.
As quickly as everything happened, it finished, and now I planned to just get my husband to safety before I find my kids and make sure they knew everything was going to be ok now.
After around twenty minutes, I finally made it to the same hospital Bryan worked at and they rushed him to the ICU.
I wasn't allowed in the room while he was like this, so I just went home to make sure the kids were ok.
