Chapter 26

18 Years Later

Inpu's POV

I planned for everything, everything was in place to go perfectly, and it all crumbled in a single day.

Bryan found out and was able to execute a plan in about a week, which meant I deeply discredited him.

He was smarter than I ever gave him credit for, I never expected he'd actually try and run away, he was always scared of anything out of his comfort zone, so this was out of no where.

To top it off for my losing streak, Bryan found the two test tubes I left out and took them, and with my luck, the triplets didn't have pure angel wings, they had wings like fallen angels.

I did resent them a bit, but at the end of the day, they could still be of use to me, I just needed to find where Bryan had the other two go to school, then if I can get the triplets to gain trust, I can put the plan back on track.

Everything was just a pain in the ass, I know Bryan is in the human realm, but where he is, that's another issue.

What I mostly did every day was spend all my time in the office, but it wasn't without at least one of the triplets sneaking into my office to ask me a question.

Today was one of those days, I was deep in thought, trying to figure out where Bryan could be based on magic residue I've found, when I heard the door to my office open.

I glanced up thinking it would be one of the maids asking what I wanted for dinner, but no, it was Atlas coming in for something.

Atlas and I never got along, his look and personality reminded me of Bryan, and on top of that, his black wings were a constant reminder that he wasn't fit for what I needed.

"Dad, any chance you can take a break for a bit? Lotus and Femi want to spend time with you"

"And you? Normally you don't speak to me unless you need something, why bother about your siblings now?"

"Because I've learned you won't do anything for me, so I could care less, but its unfair for the two of them to not get attention because you're so focused on whatever stupid thing it is"

"Cut the attitude, now"

"Why should I, my entire life I've barely seen you, my siblings and I are 14 and have been raised by maids our entire lives, what is so important you can't face us?"

"My reasons shouldn't be known, all you need to know is that its important to me"

"Is it being important to you really more important than us?"

I didn't respond, I just rolled my eyes, but I could tell Atlas was worked up because of it.

He went to leave the room, but before he did, I watched him glare at me, then knock over a large pile of paperwork I needed to go through.

Out of anger, I yelled at him but he was already outside of the office, so I just decided to give it up and go over the paperwork again later.

Another few hours passed, and I began to hear the kids getting louder and clearly more excited, and since I couldn't focus, I realized I had to give them a piece of my mind.

Once I picked up everything and put it on my desk, I stormed out of my office to where they were playing.

The three of them could see I was angry, so the seconded I entered the room, they went quiet.

"DO YOU THREE HAVE TO BE SO LOUD!?!" [Inpu]

"Sorry dad...we didn't think-" [Lotus]

"THAT'S THE ISSUE, LOTUS, YOU DIDN'T THINK!" [Inpu]

"We were just-" [Femi]

"SAVE THE EXCUSES, I CAN'T DO MY IMPORTANT WORK WITH THE THREE OF YOU SCREAMING" [Inpu]

"What is so important you can't spend time with us? You've been studying this stuff for at least 14 years" [Atlas]

"What my research is shouldn't concern you since none of you were any help" [Inpu]

"Wait, was the reason we were born purely for your work?" [Femi]

"And what if it is? You have no where else to go, almost all the demons here listen to me, any of them find you out of the house they will bring you back here" [Inpu]

"Then explain to us what is going on! We never know anything, if we don't even fit in there, why can't we at lease know?" [Atlas]

"All you need to know is that I need my power back, and my only chance at that got away" [Inpu]

"Let me guess, you killed them?" [Lotus]

"No, he found his way out of my spells and left the realm, so when I used his magic residue to try and create a backup, that failed, did you three really think you got your white hair and wings from me?" [Inpu]

"We just thought you killed our other parent..." [Atlas]

"Oh, not at all, I might after I get what I'm after, but not yet" [Inpu]

"And let me guess, you don't want us to help because we are the "failures" who couldn't give you what you were after" [Femi]

"Oh, I have one way you three can redeem yourselves, I just need to figure out where the person I'm after is located first" [Inpu]

"Good luck with that, if they left on their own, they probably don't want to be found" [Lotus]

"He can hide as long as he wants, no matter where he goes, I'll find him" [Inpu]

"And if we were to help with this, what would we do?" [Atlas]

"You both gain the trust of your siblings he has, that way you get close enough to him for me to sneak in and grab him" [Inpu]

"Wait, we have siblings?" [Femi]

"Yup, two of them, and based on further investigation, if I can't get the one I'm really after, either of them will work for my plan" [Inpu]

"So if you can't be cruel to someone who isn't blood related, you'll be cruel to your own children?" [Atlas]

"Had at least one of you been born with what I need, we wouldn't be in this situation" [Inpu]

They didn't respond to me, they each just grabbed their things and went back to their room.

I didn't want to deal with them, so I just went back to my office so I could reorganize everything.
