Chapter 38

Bryan's POV

To keep a long story short, after the triplets got back, we couldn't find a way to get the blockers off.

We had no idea if I could survive the ritual or whatever the hell it would end up being, so when I woke up, my mind just began to fill with thoughts of the good moments I had in my life.

Shortly after I woke up, a few of the maids came in, and I could tell by their faces that it was time.

They handed me an outfit I used to wear all the time because apparently Inpu wanted to see me in it along with placing some food for me on the table, so out of hope it could be the thing that keeps me alive, I ate as slow as possible.

Once we started to walk to the room Inpu was in, I could see on everyone's faces that they were all dreading this, I even heard a few guards whisper how it wasn't fair.

No one in the house wanted this to happen, heck, I even heard some dread in Inpu's voice last night, but out of everyone, I was the one who was actually accepting the fact it was happening.

I was brought into Inpu's office, but I noticed I was seemingly alone in the room, so I just took a seat on the couch in there like I normally would.

Inpu walked in soon after, but he wouldn't look me in the eyes.

He seemed to be writing something down, so I decided not to pay him any mind, but it grew very hard to do so when he picked me up and placed me so I was sitting on his desk.

Once I finally looked at him, he gave me a concerned look for a bit before moving my chin up and kissing my neck over and over again.

I began to slightly moan, I figured if this was my last interaction with someone, I might as well enjoy it.

After a few minutes, Inpu placed his hand under my shirt and began to rub the base of my wings, he knew there were a few nerves there that made me tense up, but I wasn't sure why he was doing it considering the fact he got one of my feathers before he put the blockers on me.

"Can I ask why?"

"You may, can I know why you ask?"

"You are making me tense up despite the fact you already have what you need"

"Do you remember some of the things that turn me on?"

"Not off the top of my head, why?"

"Seeing you completely willing to let me do whatever is one of those things, and I figured since we may not have much time left together, I figured this would be a nice thing to do"

"You were so mean to me a few days ago, what changed?"

"Nothing, but I wanted to give you some extra love before we get this done~"

"And what do you mean by that?"

Before Inpu could respond, he pressed up against me and used his tails to pull me closer.

We began to make out and I was slightly grinding on him, and honestly, I enjoyed it.

This was something I hadn't felt in years, something I felt I was missing.

I knew it was wrong, he wanted me for all the wrong reasons, but I loved and missed moments like this, and something inside me just told me it was better with Inpu around.

The moment finished almost as quickly as it started, and once Inpu backed away and took me off the desk, I knew it was time.

He walked me to the middle of a dimly lit room and had me sit down in the middle of it.

Not wanting what could be my last moments to be filled with fear from hearing the chanting, I began to space out, but that was soon washed out with immense pain.

I let out a scream of pain as I felt all my energy leave my body, I had never felt this much agony before.

After a few minutes that felt like hours, I collapsed, but I could feel something inside me fighting that I wish wasn't, that way I wouldn't be in any more pain.

Laying on the floor felt like I was there forever, and I was ready to be left to die here, but I felt someone pick me up.

It took me some time to get the energy to move my head, but I noticed Inpu was sitting next to me, lifting my body so he could take off the blockers before he carried me out of the room.

Once he left the room, I passed out completely.

When I woke up again, I was in Inpu's bed wearing his pajamas.

It still hurt to move, but I was able to see that there was some medical equipment hooked up to me.

I had no energy to move, so I was sort of left to just look around the room.

Inpu walked in after a few minutes, but before he could even say anything to me, he put a hand on my forehead while he used the other to gently rub my back.

"You still have a fever...how are you feeling?"

"Exhausted and fatigued..."

"Alright, considering you've been out for three days, that's expected"

"Why haven't you just killed me by now? I have no use to you now..."

"I...is that really how you think of me?"

"How could I not, you kept a terribly dark secret from me, I was ready to accept that death when you got me, how many times do I need to explain this to you?"

"Sorry, I just keep forgetting it because I constantly feel like a fuck up, I'm the reason my dad lost his power, I'm the reason you left and the kids hate me, I've never done anything right because I can't"

"Then here's how you start, you give me time alone to let me regain trust"

"Hon, I hate to be the one to tell you, but you can barely walk right now"

"Here's the deal then, I'll stay here till I'm better, but after that I get to go back to my house so I can take care of the kids, I'll give you my address, but you can't enter without permission, from there we can take it like we're dating"

"I think I'd be willing to try that"

"Good, cause as soon as I'm better I'm out of here, I can't even imagine how the kids trashed the house"

Inpu let out a slight laugh before one of the maids came in with food.

I tried to sit up so I could eat, but I couldn't really move, so Inpu ended up helping me.

Upon waking up, I thought Inpu would want nothing to do with me, so him being willing to help me was a large surprise.

It was actually really nice, I felt a comfort I hadn't felt in a very long time, and honestly, I didn't think I'd ever feel it again after I found out.

Despite the fact I woke up after three days, I was still exhausted, so once I finished eating, I did my best to snuggle up on Inpu and ended up falling back asleep.
