Inpu's POV
I was incredibly hesitant on whether I was doing the right thing by regaining power for myself and my father by using Bryan, but after seeing how much pain he was in, I knew I picked the wrong answer.
My entire life I had been pretty much deemed the fuck up, the failure, the waste or recourses, so I thought doing something to help my father would be needed, but that didn't even help.
Instead of becoming good enough for my father, I just made my life worse, I was the absent father, the cruel demon of a cult, and the abusive husband to someone who didn't deserve it.
Bryan shouldn't have given me a second chance, I don't know why he even considered giving me a second chance, I really didn't deserve it.
He was feeling well enough to go home, so I was trying to help Bryan any way I could, but there wasn't much for me to do other than open the portal and make sure he gets there safe.
Despite it being almost two weeks later, Bryan was still struggling to walk thanks to the ritual, but I guess something I should explain is the actual reason for it.
The story had tons of different versions, but the truth was, I lost my power causing my father to lose his because of my father's choices.
Around 1000 years ago, we were at our highest, both of our power was at its peak, and to my father, I was a perfect right hand for him, until he decided to go through with his worst plan yet.
He wanted to attack the angels, but when he went through with it, he managed to win, but not without something fatal following him.
One angel followed him and began trying to fight off any demon that went near him, in the end, no one was safe, my father was fighting off the angel, but I was collateral.
The angel was close to death, so to take care of himself, he took my power, nearly killing me in the process.
Had it not been for the fact at the time I was an only child, my father would have let me die, but he couldn't let me since my mom was still in the very risky part of pregnancy, no one knew if Magnus would survive, so I had to live.
Ever since, I was made to feel like a failure when we had no new information, but I was doing everything correct when I had something new, so I was constantly chasing praise.
Looking back, I was doing the same thing to my kids, and I began to hate myself for it, I never wanted to be my father, but anger was blinding me, thus causing me to hurt the love of my life and neglect my kids, something I never thought I'd do when I had a family.
My mind was just going over all of my failures while Bryan was doing a few things, but I could tell he noticed, but he didn't bring it up, so I just started to help him get to his house.
Upon walking up to the fence, I heard a dog start to bark and run at the fence before I notice the door opened.
Bryan opened the gate and the pup quickly ran over to Bryan who turned the pup back towards the house.
We both walked past the fence before Bryan closed the gate, but before he could even go in, I noticed something zoom past me and hug Bryan.
It was a young girl, so I assumed it was Crystal since I had never met her, but I figured it would be better to not interact with her just yet.
Not long after, a little boy who I assumed was Artemis ran over to Bryan and all three of them shared a long hug.
The puppy started to bark at me again which quickly grabbed Crystal's attention, but instead of a calm introduction, I watched her eyes turn from purple and brown to a dark red before her ears and tails became more visible.
She charged at me after a few minutes, and her level of control came as a large shock to me.
Before she could actually do any harm to me, I noticed Bryan wanted to put a stop to it.
"Crystal! Enough!" [Bryan]
"But-!" [Crystal]
"Enough, I need to explain a few things to you both, so please don't let your claws out before then" [Bryan]
Crystal let out a scoff before she grabbed Artemis' hand and the two walked inside.
Bryan just let out a heavy sigh, but he wasn't moving at all.
"Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I didn't realize telling them this would be the hard part..."
"Who knows what they've thought in the past few weeks, you've been gone almost a month"
"I'm just lucky work has given me time off until I'm able to comfortably go back, I don't know what I'd do if I had to deal with this plus finding another job"
"Hey, I know you got this, you've already done a large amount of work just trying to get better while planning how you need to move forward, if anyone has this, its you"
He just nodded before we both walked into the house.
Artemis was hiding behind a smaller wall while Crystal was keeping a close eye on me, making sure whenever I looked at her I saw her red eyes.
Bryan pulled the two of them into another room and began to explain to them our agreement, but I could tell Crystal was having none of it.
On the other hand, Artemis seemed happy with it, and once Bryan introduced the two of them to me, Artemis quickly ran over and introduced himself politely.
The two of them went back to doing whatever, but I could tell from Bryan's expression that something wasn't right with the kids.
Since the two of them went to working on whatever school work they had, Bryan and I decided to walk around the garden while we let them process and think things over.
"So, I take it Crystal doesn't like me"
"She got her symbol and began to regret her demon side, all I did was tell her the truth, but I don't know what goes on in her mind"
"Does she get nightmares?"
"Yeah, why?"
"When I was her age, I had nightmares about my father, mostly about the things he did to my mother, all of it was spot on, my guess, she got a glimpse in the future, she was probably worried because she saw the pain you were in"
"And the triplets probably didn't help, I love them to death, but they seem to have no idea how some things work, it probably added onto her stress"
"You think she'll ever trust me?"
"She will, Artemis too, they just need time to adjust, I know they'll come around"
I just let out a sigh of relief, I didn't want to be the one to force a relationship, but I wanted to at least gain some trust from each of them.
My mental health was also something I began to think about, my father ruined it and caused me to ruin my family's mental health as well, so I had to sort everything out, and fast.
