What do you do,
When your worlds precarious balance is at risk of
Falling apart?

What do you do,
When you want to say "I love you",
And lie about what kind?

What do you do,
When the worry in your heart, carefully subdued,
Is eating you alive?

What do you do,
When the world keeps hitting you,
And you want it just to stop?

What do you do,
When you are physically incapable
Of relaxing, even for a moment?

What do you do,
When you want to say
"I love you like a friend", yet,
Are bound by your own word not to lie?

What do you do,
When you want to tear yourself apart,
Because you feel unworthy of the words you speak?

What do you do,
When you feel like you're lying as you speak the truth,
When you feel ashamed for your own failures while trying to help someone overcome their own struggles?

What do you do,
To convince someone you care without scaring someone else you care about out of their mind?

What do you do,
When you want to hold someone and cry,
And tell them you love them,
And beg them to see reason,
And help them all you can,
And be there for them in every way,

But you can't?

Because there's someone else who would cry themselves to sleep at night,

Because there's someone else you love endlessly that can't understand the level of your care,

Because there's someone you need, more than anything, to help them feel safe,

Because you're bound by deep, unrelenting love to them?

What do you do,
When you love more than one person?

What do you do,
When neither of them believe the things you say?
When neither of them take your honest pleas to heart?

What do you do?

What do you do?

What do you do?

What do I do?
