Four years have now passed since the Shadow Triad was defeated by the Digidestined. While everyone has found their own paths in life, portals between the Digital and human world have opened up...
It took a long walk which lasted hours, until Serena and Gizamon had finally arrived at their destination... The Dark Forest. The forest where Bacchusmon and Ceresmon would be, two of the Olympus Twelve members. Arriving at the forest, the two looked up at it's unsettling atmosphere... From the dark green and purple plants and leaves on the trees. To the twisted branches of the trees, and rotting plants between the fresh ones. Everything about this forest screamed trouble. "Alright, let's see here..." Serena pulled out a few notes that Jeremy had written down, skimming through them in her head. "It says these two live at the end of the forest... And apparently... This forest is pretty dangerous or whatever... Says it can like... Warp people's minds? Whatever the heck that means..." Serena looked up at the forest, putting the notes back in her pocket. "Alright, let's just, like... Make sure to be careful going through this place... Now let's go!" Serena and Gizamon started walking into and through the forest, walking down a faint path between the trees. The forest was eerily silent as they walked through, with nothing but the sound of their faint footsteps through the dirt. The forest was also very dark, the light from the sun barely visible now through the thick trees. Gizamon gulped nervously as he looked around, and while looking around, he could have sworn he saw slight movement behind a nearby bush. "Um... Serena...? You think it's possible that there could be... Argomons here?" Gizamon asked, stuttering nervously. "Probably. I think the notes said there's other Digimon here too..." Serena replies. "Not sure what kind though..." As they kept walking, Gizamon's eyes fixated on this one plant, with a giant flower atop it...

...And the flower suddenly makes a slight shift. "AGHHH!! TH-THAT PLANT MOVED!!" Gizamon suddenly screeched, nervously jumping back. "Geez, chill out Gizamon! You must be imagining things..." Serena says, looking over at the plant. "N-no, I saw it move! I don't think that's a plant, Serena..." Gizamon whimpered. "Oh, come on Gizamon! That's just a rotting old plant..." Serena says, walking right up to the plant as Gizamon let out a nervous squeak. "Whoa! Relax. Watch, I'll prove it's a plant... HYAH!!" Serena suddenly punched the plant. "See? It's not..." The plant quickly then stood up straight, staring down at Serena. "Oh... Crap..." Serena took a step back, as the plant Digimon suddenly grabbed her, lifting her up. "NO!! LET HER GO!!" "GIZAMON DIGIVOLVE TO... COELAMON!!" "FOSSIL BITE!!" Coelamon jumped forward, biting onto the Digimon's big flower, causing it to let go of Serena. Serena gasped for air, the two running away down the path. "Coelamon... You gotta... Run... Faster..." Serena huffed, stopping in her tracks as she looked back at Coelamon. "Hard... To move... On land... In this form..." Coelamon huffed. Coelamon was only barely flopping forward at a slow pace with his fins. The plant Digimon was quickly able to catch up to Coelamon, grabbing him and trying to strangle him. "Coelamon... You gotta Digivolve again!!" "COELAMON DIGIVOLVE TO... MARINKIMERAMON!!" "AQUA VIPER!!" MarinKimeramon wasted no time firing a blast at the Digimon, doing a ton of damage as it released its grip on him. The Digimon stumbled back, as a black mist started pouring out from its flower. MarinKimeramon both coughed from the string mist, Serena covering her mouth... "POSEIDON VORTEX!!" And MarinKimeramon fired another shot... Poofing the Digimon to dust. MarinKimeramon quickly flopped away from the mist, the two trying to take a few steps back from it. "Thanks MarinKimeramon, I... Ugh, god. What is this stuff?" Serena hissed, covering her mouth again as she coughed once more. "I don't know, but... We should get away from it." MarinKimeramon replies, Serena nodding in agreement as the two continue walking down the path. The two had now gotten farther away from the mist, where it wasn't in the air anymore... However... Serena started feeling a weird headache. Her vision was almost starting to get blurry, and she could hear a faint voice in the back of her head... One that sounded familiar to her. "Wha... M...Mom?" Serena clumsily turned around, looking behind her where she could hear the voice. "Mom..." "Serena? Are you alright?" MarinKimeramon asked. "Mom... I... I can hear you..." Serena started walking off into another direction, almost like she was in some sort of trance from the voice she could hear inside her head. "Serena, wait! You're imagining things! Come back!" MarinKimeramon shouted, but Serena completely ignored him. Serena continued walking in her tranced state, MarinKimeramon's shouts blocked out by her brain... Soon then, Serena ended up in a small clearing... Which was filled with more of those Digimon. "SERENA!! NO!!" Simultaneously, all the Digimons blasted out the same black mist, overwhelming Serena's senses and clouding her vision. It felt like her entire body went limp, as she fell to the ground... And collapsed. ... ... ... In her dreams, Serena could see nothing but a blurry mass of colors, her eyesight blinded by the hazy state she was in. Her vision was soon starting to clear up though, when she heard the sound of her mother's voice again. As her vision cleared up, she saw her mother, who was staring down at her with a look that screamed sorrow, with nothing but a colorful mass of dreamy blurs behind her. "M...Mom...?" Serena's voice felt very weak. Her body was frozen, not being able to move a single muscle in this dreamy state. She could only watch, staring at her mother who only sadly mumbled out phrases that echoed in her head... "Serena... Why... Do you not... Care...? Are you... Not trying? You're breaking my heart... Breaking my heart... Breaking my heart..." Her mother's voice soon started to fade away, Serena's vision blurring once more... ... ... ... "Serena?! Wake up, please!" Serena could hear Gizamon's voice. Serena slowly cracked open her eyes, her blurry vision starting to become clearer. "You're awake! Oh, thank goodness..." Gizamon worried hopped over to Serena, helping her sit up. "Are you alright?" "Urrghhh..." Serena groaned softly, rubbing her head where she felt a slight throbbing pain. She could almost start to feel tears welling up in her eyes from the dream she just witnessed, but she quickly wiped them away before Gizamon could notice. "I... I think so..." Serena mumbled, looking around a bit. "Where... Where'd those Digimon go...?" She asked. "I defeated them all when they knocked you out with their mists..." Gizamon replied. "You sure you're alright?" "Uh..." Serena's voice quickly trailed off when the two heard some loud stomping noises nearby, sounding like they were getting closer. Serena quickly stood up on her wobbly legs, the two diving behind a nearby bush. As the stomping got closer, the two gently peeked out, seeing the big Digimon in front of them...
