We arrived at the survey corps headquarters late at night after the graduation ceremony. We were all nervous honestly, but the soldiers that were helping us with finding our way to the barracks and such were very kind. Hange, Fia and I were put in the same rooms, which was nice. Miche and Felix on the other hand were on the opposite side of HQ.

The first few days we spent at HQ were for learning the ropes of the scouts and how they operated, the ranks, and information about missions outside the walls and what to expect.
It felt so nice to finally be a part of my brothers branch of service, although no one had recognized me as his sister yet.

For a few days I had been anticipating writing a letter to my parents, stating that I had finally become a soldier, but I wasn't sure how well it would find them. But I did it anyways.

Dear, Mom and Dad,
After three hard years of training, I have finally become a soldier. I hope you guys can find it in your hearts to be proud of me. I've followed in Calins footsteps and joined the Survey Corps, I know it's the least respected form of military and all of that, but here I can make a difference. I can help humanity. I will write you again when the time is right.
Love,
F/n

I sighed as I finished the last sentence. I knew that Milo would try and show the letter to them, but I wasn't sure if they would even open it. I don't even think my father saw me as his own daughter anymore. Not that I cared much.

"Hey Hange," I asked as I turned around in my chair, Hange was sprung out on their bed reading a book, "do you know where I can send this letter?" I asked as I stood up.

Hange looked away from their book and over to me, "uhhh, I'm not sure. Maybe one of the higher up's know?"
I nodded and looked over to Fia, who was already fast asleep, I knew I wasn't getting anything out of her.

"I'll go ask." I said as I grabbed my jacket and walked out of our room. I roamed the quiet hallways of HQ for what seemed like days until I finally found someone. Captain Smith. I had been introduced to him my first day here, he was tall, well built, with bright blonde slicked back hair.
"Excuse me, Mr. Smith!" I said as I waved to him.

He turned to me with a smile, putting down the paperwork in his hand, "You can just call me Erwin. What do you need F/n?" He asked.
I held out the sealed letter, "where can I send this?" I asked.

He took the letter from my hand and read the words on the front. He stared for a while before he responded to me.
"You're Calins litter sister, aren't you." He asked.

He caught me completely by surprise. I mean yeah, I was, but I just wanted him to send the letter.

I nodded slowly, "yes, I am." I said softly as I looked to the side.
Erwin pat my shoulder, "it's a shame what happened to him. He was a good friend of mine, we were in the same cadet corps."

I looked back over at him with a sad smile.
"Well enough about Calin," he said as he cleared his throat, "I'll get this letter sent for you. You should get some sleep; we have a mission tomorrow."
I nodded, "thank you for your help."

That next morning everyone in the barracks were awoken by a loud bell. Today we had a mission, we were going outside the walls for the first time, and hopefully not the last time.
