2 years later
It's insane to me how fast things can change, how fast years can go by. Time feels like such a familiar yet foreign thing to me. It's like I can't get a grasp of it, sometimes I wish time could just stop. It feels like only yesterday that I found out my brother died. It feels like just hours ago I joined the cadet corps, and moments ago I joined the scouts.

     Dear, Calin,
I've noticed that writing to you helps me cope with the fact that I'll never hear your voice again. I have about a hundred letters scattered all over. I hope when I meet you again, you can read them. If I can take things into the afterlife, I guess. A lot has changed throughout the years, and I kept my promise to you. Well hopefully that's the way you see it. Just recently I was officially promoted to captain. The corps will once again have a Captain L/n. I hope I can do great things, and I know what you would say to that. You would say I do great things wherever I go, no matter what it is. But it's different now, because now it rings with truths.

                                     Love,
F/n

"Oi! F/n! You have a meeting with the commander today remember!" Felix yelled as he knocked on my door.

He always acted as if I had no brain.
"Yeah Yeah! Put a cork in it!" I yelled back as I kicked my door. I made sure to straighten up my uniform and took a deep breath, Erwin and I had a meeting with the commander to discuss the recent crimes in the underground. Apparently, some military police got their gear stolen by some bandits. So much for the "strongest branch."

I sighed as I opened my door, even though I knew what the meeting was about, I was still nervous. I had only been considered as I higher up if the corps for two months, and I still felt like I had no authority.

"Felix." I said in a teasing tone as we began to walk down the corridor, "did you forget that I'm your captain now? You're supposed to address me as Captain F/n."

Felix scoffed, "oh please! Like I'd call you that! You don't make Fia call you Captain F/n!" He mocked in a high-pitched voice.
I chuckled and nudged him, "I'm just messing with you big guy. Your temper is so short these days."

Felix rolled his eyes, "because your attitude is unbearable..." he mumbled under his breath.
I put my hand on his shoulder, squeezing it tightly, "know your place." I said in a cold tone as I glared at him.

Felix was still almost a foot taller than me; it didn't matter how much I grew, yet he still cowered like a toddler whenever I intimidated him.

"Okay, okay! Jeez! I'm sorry!" He whined.
My grip tightened, "seems like you're the one who needs to fix your attitude."
"Okay! I'm sorry Captain F/n!" He yelled as a last resort.

I released my hand from his shoulder and smiled wide at him, "there you go! Good job big guy!" I exclaimed, completely changing my demeanor.

Felix rubbed his shoulder, "you're evil."
The meeting with the commander was being held in the main office of the scout's headquarters, which Felix and I had arrived at just now.

Felix slapped me on the back lightly, "I'll be out here waiting for when you're done!" He said with a smile.

I waved him off, "don't bother. Go meet up with Fia and Hange." I deadpanned as I opened the door to the commander's office.
"Commander Shadis." I greeted as I saluted.
Erwin was already there, along with Miche. I always forgot he had been promoted to captain too.
