                  Trost District, undercover

I strained my eyes looking out for anything that was out of the ordinary as we made our way through the alleyways of Trost. If anyone were to attempt to kidnap our decoys, I wasn't sure when it would be, so I had to stay as alert as I could.

"Make sure we spread out. We don't want to draw attention to us." I ordered quietly as we made our way to the Main Street. The royal family's flag was strung up everywhere it seemed.

"Whys the royal flag being hung up like this?" Connie asked as he looked around.

I thought for a moment, "it must be the anniversary of the royal family's establishment. Which means the Sina feast is tonight as well." I responded.

"The Sina feast? What's that?" Sasha asked. She had a bit of drool running down the corner of her mouth. That girl just loved to eat.

I smiled, "the royal family hosts a feast at their estate. All important politicians and merchants are invited. I used to go there every year with my family." I said. The memories of my childhood had resurfaced after I don't even remember how long. I realized that I had come to forget my life before the corps.

Sasha and Connie looked astonished, "You've met the king!?" Connie asked, he had a certain glint in his eye that I couldn't describe.

I shook my head, "no, I haven't met him. But I've been in the same vicinity as him. It was years ago anyways."

Sasha walked up closer to me, "so you were basically royalty before you enlisted? Lucky~! If I was royalty I would eat the most delicious food everyday all day!"

I chuckled softly, "I wasn't exactly royalty, but I did have a comfortable life."

"Oi." Levi said quietly, "quit the talking. Stay alert." He ordered. I could tell he was really on edge. I wondered what he was thinking.

We continued to push through the large crowds of people. The royal family would also give out rations to the outer districts. I always thought it was to preserve the loyalty to the monarchy. And it worked, the citizens of the outer walls were bigger kiss asses than the citizens of Sina.

As we continued to walk, the crowds of people dwindled in numbers. The streets were easier to walk though and I felt like I could finally breathe. Even though there wasn't many people around anymore. It still felt too quiet, way too quiet. I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I fixated my gaze on what I could see from behind me, I noticed as a cart was coming towards us at full speed.

I whipped around, "get down!" I yelled.

Levi ran over to me as I crouched down, he covered my head with his arm. The cart passed by us quickly, once I looked up I noticed that they had taken the bait. Armin and Jean were disguised as Historia and Eren, and they had been snatched up.

I stood up slowly as I watched them speed away from view. I couldn't believe that they would take them in the middle of town. Those kidnappers didn't even try to neutralize us.

"Let's switch to ODM gear. We'll follow them slowly, don't get noticed!" Levi yelled.

I threw off the raincoat I had on and uncovered my gear. I made sure to check the mechanics before deploying my anchor into a chimney of one of the nearby homes.
