Chapter 8

Elora emptied her bag. Some clothes, her soap, a few snacks and thread to fix and make clothes with giant animal skins should she need. Her healing rock and dreamwalker stone was left in her bag. Elora looked around her room, it was bland. Annoyingly bland. She'd decorate later.

Elora flopped on the edge of the -her- bed. What was she doing? She hadn't even dealt with the breath of evil yet? Elora puffed out a sigh, her cheeks puffing up and deflating. The dragons can deal with it, for now finding out who had caused the attack on Naruto's birthday.

Unless Obito was a double agent.

It was still a possibility, Elora would have to figure out his motives and how he fit. Elora sat on the floor deciding whether or not to take her cloak off.

The door burst open. Two squealing children ran in, stock still and staring when they saw her. Noise erupted right after.

"Who are you?"

"Why are you here?"

"You have markings too!"

"Can you make them glow up?"

"Do your hands have this?" The child pointed to webbing between her fingers. It wasn't nearly as pronounced as what Elora was used to.

A hand grabbed her ears, "Your ears are pointy, but I beat you there, see!" The older boy -the very same she saved from the lake- pointed to his ears which were more Seawing than human.

"Nice?" Elora found time to talk.

"Why do you talk like that?"

"What?"

"Yea, it's very weird, like, your growling!" The two looked at each other, eyes blown wide.

"Are you part dog?" They asked at the same time.

"Okay!" Elora put a hand on the children's back and guided them out, closing the Fusuma. Elora flopped back onto the bed. What an odd mix of traditional Japanese and Konoha.

Elora scrubbed her face with a groan, settiling to finish sorting through the satchel. Her healing rock, some snacks and a few clothes. Elora pulled out her blanket, she'd hardly used it for anything since she'd gotten her cloak. Elora laid the blanket on the floor. She caressed the folds they bunched and moved at her touch. She opened it and felt a shiver of pleasuredown her spine.

Her treasure greeted her. It was her first actual treasure, the enchanted pen didn't quite count. Elora didn't know if she was meant to keep it. It was more of a weapon anyway.

Even if it's a necklace currently.

Her crown gleamed in the light moving as she picked it up. The silver crown was fitted for the girl's head, every few years it would be remolded to fit her growth. The girl watched the intricate carvings depicted a story only knowing eyes could see. In the silver band it showed the nightwings past entwined with her, Elora smiled despite everything. It had all worked out well. Elora looked at the royal purple dress.

"Hey, Elora, would you like to go on a walk with us?" Tide asked, Elora quickly folding her treasures. The girl made herself fold them, instead of shoving, her dragon instincts making her possessive of the treasures.

"Sure!" Elora chirped, fighting the feeling to be possesive, putting them in her bag. "Now or in a minute?"

"In a minute," Tide sighed, his shoulders relaxing minutely, Elora smiled. Tide left his chakra expanding and retracting and overwhelming Elora for a second.

Elora waited for the dizzy feeling left and was became used to the chakra running beneath the ground and checked her shoes. Could be cleaned but fine. Elora distantly wondered if she was supposed to take them off earlier.
