I was reading on Ao3, I think the intro explains the rest.
Chapter 6
Mike was cold.
He'd rarely been warm since the two had been sent to this strange world. (Or would dimension fit more? Mike didn't know.) Having caught a case of hypothermia that just wouldn't leave, but this chill wasn't from outside.Mike looked out at the dark clouds, his vision was still marred by his quirk. He could see the dark clouds casting a large shadow over the snow cover plane then his vision would clear and the sky would still be blue, the white clouds light and happy. They danced fast paced steps in the sky, the wind urging the movement.
Mike raised his hand looking at his mist. His heart jumped to his throat. Mike's mist was the one thing that didn't change when his quirk took over his senses. After all, it was a part of it. Yellow-green swirled around his hand.
Mike clenched his hand. Whether or not it trembled isn't important.
Aang landed Appa, helping the villagers down. "Just head over there," Aang pointed to the dome and the townspeople rushed to safety. Aang lingered, making sure everyone headed inside. Mike immediately put everyone to work, having them help with the wall. Aang guided Appa back to the village. The villagers heard a cheerful 'yip yip' as the boy and flying... thing left.
Aang watched the sky, Appa grumbled into the wind. "I know boy," Aang murmured, guiding the Sky Bison through the turbulence in the sky. The sky continued to darken at an unnatural pace, the clouds -quite literally- forming above the sea.
They curled at an unnatural pace merging together and darkening. Energy hummed in the air but no lightning crackled to fix the unnatural speed.
"Appa? What do you think this all is about? Definitely something with those two." Aang paused as Appa landed, returning his attention to helping the Water Tribe onto the massive animal.
Aang jumped onto the massive beast, air curling under him and launching him further than he could without. The twelve year old tugged the reins to lead the animal up. Aang's gaze wandered to the forming storm, angry clouds formed dark rings around the setting sun and waking stars.
"Just one more load," Aang whispered, adjusting his breathing to compensate for the cooling air and undistributed energy.
Kai swallowed, he estimated it'd be a good fifteen minutes before Aang and Appa made their way back. He was quite good at estimating, his teacher had praised him on it more than a few times.
So Kai was quite unnerved to say he also estimated it'd take thirty minutes for the blizzard to finish forming. Suffocating by snowflakes is about the worst death a ten year old could think of.
Barring being eaten alive, that was terrifying.
Mike was grumpy.
Kanna could see it in the way his posture curled and his cheeks puffed in anger. Of course the red on his cheeks didn't make him look welcoming, either.
Kanna sighed and refrained from rolling her eyes.
Mike pushed the snow-formed brick together. It held but crumbled along the edges in a way that proved it useless. Even the village kids' snowballs looked more like bricks than whatever this mess was. Mike brushed the snow into the ground and wandered to check on the wall.
With a third of the village working on it, it was being built fast. Mike suppressed a shudder and entered his quirk.
The familiar black space stretched before him, red keyboard ready to use, screen laid out before him. Mike checked the storm. It was going to be bad, of course it was. The clouds were forming fast and moisture was prepared to fall on the village.
