Probably should have mentioned this before, but for the past few months I haven't been using a Grammer editor, so excuse any mixed up there/their/they're's or whatever. The editor I was using was Quillbot, 6/10, It works but it's SLOW, try at you're own risk
Chapter 2
'So this is Gotham?'
Elora perched on the edge of the building, the shadows falling over her like a cloak. Signal swung by and Elora checked her Genjutsu. It held and the Vigilante didn't seem to have his ability active. Not that Elora exactly knew what it did.
Having a past life as a DC fan only works if you know canon, and if you're not in the same universe as what you watched...
Well...
Elora crept closer to the edge, the bright rays of the sun alighting her back with warmth. Elora relaxed slightly into it. Her mind remained fixed on the lines and shadows she hid. The illusion held.
Elora leapt across the street. The Gotham sky had an odd mix of smog and slight blue that peeked above her. Elora dropped into the alley and hopped onto the fire escape. Sliding down to the alley ground. The girl dropped her jutsu.
A homeless man looked at her and stood in a wobbly way that screamed intoxicated. "Hey, there meta-girl, why dontch-" His breath reeked of something fermented and stale dirty breath, no teeth either.
Elora turned on her heel and left the alley. The signs, Dog-Boar-Ram flashed in her hand and she changed into a nondescript brown-haired brown-haired girl from the past.
"Let's see," Elora muttered. "Lili-brary, lili-brary, donde estamos." Elora ignored the terrible grammar in favor of checking the signs posted on the building.
Elora stopped into the Jitters next to her.
"Welcome to Jitters, what can I get for you?" A barista in a green apron muttered, looking half asleep. The entire store smelled too much of coffee, and she could hear electricity running through the walls, heart beats thudding quietly if she focused.
The heartbeat behind her didn't smell healthy.
Nearly ten dollars for an extra large. Elora paused. That seems like more coffee than should be legal in one morning.
"Hi, I was just wondering if you knew where the library is?" Elora asked with a nervous smile on her face. Smile should be a little less wide, eyes a little less curled and shoulders more hunched. This is Gotham. Elora thought about using an excuse about a lost or dead phone. The Barista spoke before the girl could decide.
"Gotham public's two blocks down, just a straight shot." The barista looked at the girl with uncaring eyes, he gestured down the road. Same direction she was walking before. "You should be able to see Wayne HQ, but not be close."
"Oh, thank you! Have a good day!" Elora chirped, her smile widened naturally and she could feel her body language brighten. Elora kept walking even as a murmur of static reached her ears. The Sea-scavenger could hear someone tailing her, the scent of coffee wandered farther than normal as the door settled close.
Elora kept walking to the library, weaving between the crowd of people walking against and with her. Allowing her mind to wander while not losing track of the person tailing her, the girl pondered her next move.
'Info is first up, but we have the library, maybe I can find a map of Gotham and get my bearings some more. A rusty Arkham Knight map isn't going to help much. If DC can't get their stories straight then I should be excused. Next order of business.
