Rebecca looked for something to cut the corset of her dress, otherwise it would be impossible to take it off and seeing the attitude of the maids she knew that none of them would help her to take it off. She rummaged through the drawers and luckily for her she found a sewing box that had everything, she took out a pair of scissors and began to cut the corset trying not to hurt herself.
When she took off the dress she felt like she was breathing again, then she realized that she didn't have any other clothes, she had come to this place with only what she had on, there was nothing else she could wear and she had just torn the only thing she had.
-Why would I be so foolish and now what will I do, the king has made it clear to me that I can't ask for anything in this place and even if I did I doubt the maids would give it to me.
Rebecca lay on the bed with only the light under dress she was wearing and began to think about what she would do to get clothes, she tossed and turned several times on the fluffy bed caressing the soft silk sheets, suddenly she had an idea, while looking for something to cut her dress she had found several sets of sheets, she could use them to make herself a dress or two.
Rebecca got out of bed, pulled out a white and a lime green sheet and set to work, luckily she was a good seamstress so she could make herself a simple dress, that was better than going around in just underwear.
-I just hope they don't bother to cut the sheets-, Rebecca said as she cut the sheets.
-If they do I will have to put up with the nagging, nothing can be done, I need my clothes-, she added with a shrug.
Rebecca stayed up all night making her dress, she used some ornaments from the wedding dress so it wouldn't look so simple, it was early morning when she finally finished it, a beautiful lime green dress with white lace ornaments, she tried it on and when she saw that it fit like a glove she smiled satisfied, then she picked up the pieces and hid them so the maids wouldn't find them and when she finished she went to sleep.
The next day no one came to wake her up for breakfast, Rebecca woke up at noon, shortly after a brown-haired maid came in, she told her that her name was Rena, she brought her a simple meal consisting of vegetable soup, a piece of bread, water and an apple, The maids thought that by giving her such a poor meal they were bothering her, however for Rebecca who had not been able to have three meals a day that was a luxury, she ate the soup and the bread, left the pitcher with the water and kept the apple in case they did not give her dinner. When she finished, the maid picked up the dishes and left in silence.
Rebecca used the rest of the day to make herself another dress and underwear. At dinner time, Rena, the same maid, returned to her room with a tray of food, the dinner was more copious, she had put a beef steak with potatoes and a salad, she also had an apple for dessert, Rebecca ate all the food leaving the plates clean and put the apple away as she had done at noon, the maid stared at her, however, she said nothing about her strange habit of keeping food.
The seasons passed, spring ended and gave way to a hot summer. For the first time that room that had become Rebecca's home became a real prison, it was so hot that it was unbearable, she went out to the balcony in search of some fresh air but nothing was running, the sun was hot all day and even the nights had become hot, she had asked the servants on several occasions that she wanted to leave the room, but they told her that they could not let her out that they were orders from the king.
One night when Rebecca felt she was dying of heat she escaped from the room, there were no guards guarding her door so she had no problem escaping, she went to the garden, sat by a fountain and enjoyed the cool air that mingled with the water of the fountain.
For the first time in days she felt like she was breathing again, she stayed a long time enjoying the fresh air, when she had to go back to her room she hated it, but she didn't want to get in trouble, so she went back trying not to let anyone see her.
After that day every night she escaped and went to the fountain to refresh herself, she put her feet in the fountain and enjoyed the cool water that bathed her feet.
Setherian went for a walk for a while, the sweltering heat in his room was driving him crazy, as he was walking through the garden he saw a young girl sitting on the edge of the fountain with her feet in the water, he wondered who was so shameless to do that. He walked a little closer and when he saw a reddish curly hair he knew who it was, it was his wife Rebecca Quin, Setherian clenched his fists tightly to quell his killer instinct, every time he saw her he wanted to kill her, her hair reminded him of King Kenneth Quin who had cruelly killed several of his brothers a few years ago.
Every time he saw her his blood boiled and all he wanted to do was kill her, she was so small and thin that he only needed to squeeze her neck with a little force to kill her, he turned around and went back to his room.
After that day he discovered that Rebecca escaped every night from her room to go to that fountain to refresh herself, he found her behavior vulgar, however he let it pass, he pretended he didn't know what he was doing and stopped thinking about her.
