Rebecca lay on the ground enjoying this moment of freedom she had. The sky, the breeze, the birds singing, everything made her feel relaxed and in the end she fell asleep. When she woke up she was in her room, she wondered how she got there, outside the sun had already gone down and her room was in the shadows and that was why she could see the stars shining beautifully outside, she went out to the balcony, it was a wonderful night, the sky was clear and the stars seemed to shine with great intensity, She leaned on the railing and stood admiring the night landscape, as she did so she seemed to see a bird flying in the darkness, she forced her sight to try to see what kind of bird it was, she had leaned so far forward that she had been about to fall but Setherian had entered at that precise moment and held her waist.

-What do you think you're doing? That's dangerous.

-I'm sorry, it's just that I saw something fly by and I wanted to know what it was.

-Don't do anything dangerous.

-Yes, I'm sorry.

-Why is the room in the dark?

-I just woke up, I wanted to see the stars so I didn't turn on the lights.

-Next time do it, you shouldn't go in the dark in the room, you don't know what can hide in the dark.

-I won't do it again.

-I don't suppose you've had dinner yet.

-Not yet.

-I'll order some supper for us.

-His Majesty hasn't dined yet?

-No, I'll dine with you today, now come in and do nothing dangerous.

Setherian went away for a moment, when he returned he found Rebecca sitting on the edge of the bed.

-How are you feeling? does your wound hurt? he asked.

-It doesn't hurt, I'm fine.

-I'm glad you are.

-Can I go for a walk tomorrow, too?

-I said yes, but don't overdo it and don't fall asleep on the floor.

-His Majesty brought me?

-Yes, so just take a short walk and don't lie down on the floor.

-All right, I will not.

The maids arrived shortly after with dinner, as they arranged everything on a table in the corner of the room, Rebecca wondered why they had brought so much food, normally they only brought her a bowl of vegetable soup, some fruit and water for dinner, but that day the dinner was copious, there were a myriad of different dishes with meat, fish, chicken and turkey. After they finished arranging the table Setherian ordered them to leave them alone, he walked to the table and said.

-Come, let's have dinner.

Rebecca approached, Setherian pulled back his chair for her to sit down, that seemed strange to her, however, she said nothing. She had always dined alone, having company that night made the dinner enjoyable, the king would ask her trivial things like what dishes she liked or if she preferred sweet from savory, it was a casual conversation in which they only talked about silly things, but it made her feel comfortable.

When they finished dinner Setherian called the maids to pick up everything and prepare the bath, after preparing everything one of the maids offered to help the king wash his back, however, he refused and told her to leave, he wanted to be alone with the princess. When the maidservants left Setherian began to take off his clothes and told the princess to help him wash his back.

Setherian was already inside the bathtub when Rebecca entered the bathroom, she approached, took a sponge, soaked the sponge with the water of the bathtub and began to wash her back in silence, while she was doing it she could see the scars that were on her back, there were big and small, she touched them with her fingertips feeling the roughness of the scars, Setherian when he felt her soft fingers caressing his back said to her.

-What are you doing? Are you trying to seduce me?

-No, I was just looking at the scars, there are so many.

-They're all from the war.

-It must have been painful.

-Yes, it was, at that moment I couldn't even ask the wizards to heal me, they were exhausted both physically and mentally, they couldn't even heal the smallest wounds.

Rebecca ran her hand caressing his back and told him.

-Wars are scary.

-Yes, they are.

-It was all my father's fault, wasn't it?

Setherian didn't want to lie, he spoke with complete sincerity.

-That's right, your father was the one who started this war and I don't even know why, his kingdom is big and wide, I don't understand the reason for the war.

-My father is a cruel man but he never does anything without reason, at least that's the impression he gave me.

-How was your father with you?

-He was never a kind father, at least not to me, but to my sister Ronda he was, she has a lot of magic, she is the crown princess, when I was young I was always compared to her, she is smart and strong, my father made her his successor when he found out that I didn't have magic.

-Wait, you were the successor before your sister?

-Yes, but it was never official, the first son is supposed to inherit the throne but I was very sickly and was never treated as such, when they found out I had no magic my father disowned me, he sent me to a part of the ruined castle to die.

-The soldiers who brought you said that your father loved you, that you were his beloved daughter.

-I never was, the day he sent me here he even told me he wished his majesty would kill me, though not in those words exactly.

Rebecca continued to wash Setherian's back, she went up to his shoulders, he grabbed her hand and said.

-I was very rude to you on our wedding day, I'm sorry.

-I am the daughter of your enemy, I am surprised that your majesty left me alive, you don't have to apologize.

-I didn't know anything about this.

-Your majesty had no way of knowing, so don't worry about it.
