Romano hated to leave the palace and even more to visit the city, however, that day he had promised Rebecca that he would get him new books, he could send one of the servants if he wanted but he decided to go himself, when he asked for the carriage to be prepared to go to the city the butler and the servants were very surprised, since the prince almost never left the palace since he had suffered the injury in his leg.
Romano asked the coachman to take him to a bookstore, upon arriving in the city the coachman dropped him off as close as he could but there was a certain small part of the journey that he had to walk. While walking Romano limped slightly, there were people who stared at him, he did not like that, in the past he loved to walk around the city, he often escaped from the palace just to visit the restaurants and stroll through the crowded streets.
When he arrived at the bookstore Romano asked the guards to wait for him outside, they flatly refused but he kept insisting, he did not want them to see that he was going to buy romantic novels, even if they were not for him he did not want them to misunderstand him. After so much insistence Romano managed to enter the bookstore alone, there was an old man at the counter who asked him.
-Good morning, how can I help you?
-I'm not sure, I'll take a look- answered Romano.
-Of course, feel free to look at the books.
-Thank you.
Romano wandered through the shelves until he came to the section where the romance novels were, as he read the titles and picked out the ones he thought the princess would like best he wished no one would see him.
He was so intent on choosing the books that he didn't notice when a young woman approached him until she spoke to him.
-That book you have is very good, although there are two more before that one, if you haven't read them you might not understand much about this one.
Romano was surprised, he was embarrassed to be seen buying romance novels, the young woman saw his face turn red.
-I'm sorry, did I do something to make you feel uncomfortable- she said.
-I'm choosing books for a friend, but I don't really know which ones to choose.
-If you want I can help you? I have read all the books here.
The young woman was very kind, Romano accepted her help since he felt a little lost.
-I would be very grateful if you would do that.
-My name is Leah, what's your name?- Asked the young woman with blonde hair, tied in a bun, and light brown eyes, she was thin and her clothes didn't seem to be a noblewoman.
-My name is Romano.
-You have the same name as the prince- she said smiling.
Romano did not want her to know that he was the prince, that day he was incognito, his clothes were simple and nobody would say that he was the same person.
-It is a common name.
-Not really, it's the first time I've heard someone say they have the same name as the prince.
Leah pulled several books off the shelf and put aside the subject of his name.
-These books are very good, I'm sure your friend will love them.
Romano noticed that one of the books was not a romance book but an adventure book.
-I don't think she'll like this one- he said as he pointed to it.
-I assure you that she will love it, even though it is an adventure book, the characters live a great love and it describes wonderful places.
-Then I'll take it.
