CHAPTER 48: GOOD WISHES

Romano knew that was the best thing to do, to try to forget his feelings for the princess, however, he didn't want to use Leah just to forget his feelings for Rebecca, he wanted to be sincere with her and told her.

-I don't think it's right to do that, you are a very nice girl, I wouldn't want to make you suffer.

-Then let's start as friends and if someday your feelings change tell me, although I don't know if after that it will be too late, someone else might come along and steal my heart.

Leah ate another bite of her cake and told him.

-Enjoy your cake before I steal it from you, I really love this.

The two of them talked for quite a while, then Romano walked Leah back to the bookstore, as they said goodbye she kissed him on the cheek and said.

-Come back soon to visit me.

Romano's face turned red, he was embarrassed, that seemed adorable to Leah, Romano was a tall man, a little thin, but with well defined muscles, although he looked like a big and strong man he could be very sweet. Leah gave him a smile and said.

-See you next time Romano and remember to come back to pay for the book.

-I can pay for it right now.

Leah shook her head emphatically.

-No, you must come back another day to pay for it, so I can make sure you come back.

Leah opened the door to the bookstore and before entering, she said to him.

-I hope you enjoy your book and come back soon.

Then she entered and closed the door, Romano thought that Leah was a little strange, but she was also very nice, he returned to the palace, when he came back he went directly to his room to read the book that Leah had given him and like the previous one it was very good, he got lost between the pages of that book and he did not even realize when the night fell until the light became so scarce that it was impossible for him to continue reading. One of the servants knocked on the door of the room announcing that the king was waiting for him for dinner.

Romano did not want to have dinner with his brother, but he knew that if he continued to avoid him he would start asking what was wrong since they had always been very close so he decided to join the dinner.

When Romano arrived at the dining room he saw his brother laughing with Rebecca, that was weird for Romano, he had never seen him like that with any woman. For a moment he thought it was good to see his brother happy and wished with all his heart that this happiness would never end, even if it caused him pain. Romano greeted them and took his place at the table.

-How was the lake,?- He asked them.

-The lake is wonderful, I have never seen anything so beautiful, you should have come?- Answered Rebecca with great emotion and a big smile on her face.

-Maybe next time.

Rebecca devoted herself to telling Romano how much fun she had had on her walk to the lake during the whole dinner, when she finished two maids came to Rebecca to tell her that it was time for her bath, she said goodbye to Romano, Setherian told her that he would be up in a while.

After Rebecca left Setherian said to Romano.

-Rebecca told me you will be joining the inspection.

-Yes.

-We'll leave in a few days.

-All right.

-It's been a long time since you've accompanied me on an inspection, I'm glad you agreed to come.

-You seem very happy lately when you're with the princess. -You've fallen in love with her?

Setherian did not love her, however, inside him was born the need to protect her, to take care of her, he only answered.

Roman stood up and answered.

-That you check your heart and your feelings Seth, because sometimes we have everything we need and what we have always wanted right under our noses, but we are foolish and blind, so much so that we don't realize the value of what we have until we lose it.
