Romano went the next day to visit Rebecca, the room was full of flowers and their fragrance was spread all over the room, the doors leading to the balcony were open and a soft breeze was moving the curtains, Rebecca was looking out as if she wanted to leave the bed she was lying on to enjoy the beautiful summer day she was having.
-What is all this? Are you trying to turn your room into a garden?- He asked.
-His majesty sent them yesterday, I think they were for me to forgive him.
Romano could not believe what he was hearing, nor what he was seeing, his brother sending a gift and asking for forgiveness to a woman, that was something he never thought would happen.
-How are you feeling?- Romano asked Rebecca.
-I'm better.
-Are you still angry with my brother? Or have you already forgiven him?
-No, yesterday we made peace.
Deep in his heart, Romano had wished that Rebecca had not forgiven him, that the two of them had drifted apart.
-I see.
Rebecca kept looking outside.
-Do you want to go outside?- Romano asked.
-The truth is yes, I don't like being locked up, I hate it.
-Then let's go for a walk in the garden.
Rebecca was feeling better, however, Setherian had been very clear that morning before leaving.
-Don't leave the room, stay in bed resting judiciously for a couple of days, the trip for the inspection will be soon but if you're not well you won't go.
Although Rebecca wished with all her might to go outside, to walk among the flowers under the burning rays of the sun, to feel the soft cool breeze caressing her skin, but she also wished with all her heart to know what was beyond the castle walls, to travel and discover a new world, so she decided to be obedient and stay in bed, even if it didn't make her very happy.
She shook her head and replied.
-His majesty said that I must stay in my room and rest, otherwise I will not be able to accompany him on his journey to inspect the kingdom.
-Do you wish to leave the palace so much?
-Yes, although I would like to have some books to make my time in this room pass more quickly.
-Do you want me to bring you any books from the library?
-No, I have already sent one of the maids several times to the library but there are not many books that I find interesting, the ones I liked I have already read.
-Do you want me to buy you a new book? I could go to town and buy some books if you like.
-Would you really do that for me?
-Yes, of course.
-I would be very grateful.
Romano had spent little time with the princess and if he left the pain would return in the middle of the night, so he took her hand for a moment and said.
-I won't be long, I'll see you later.
Romano got up and left leaving Rebecca alone, she wondered why he had taken her hand, but those thoughts quickly disappeared when she saw the king enter, he approached her, gave her a soft and sweet kiss on the lips and asked.
-How are you feeling?
-I'm fine.
-Doesn't hurt anymore?
-I didn't say that, but the pain is bearable.
Setherian decided it was best to change the subject since Rebecca always made a face whenever they talked about it.
-I thought we could go for a boat ride on the lake in two days as I promised you, if you feel well by then, there are some flowers in the water that are in full bloom, I think you'll like them.
Rebecca's eyes lit up like two stars shining with happiness and pure excitement.
-Really? Your Majesty is not lying?
-I'm not, I've learned my lesson, I just want to fulfill what I promised you the other night in the garden in front of that fountain, I want to make you happy.
Setherian caressed her hair, her cheeks, went down to her neck and gave her a soft kiss.
-I told you I would show you all the beautiful places inside the palace- he said.
"I want you to forget this idea of wanting to leave the palace," Setherian thought as he gave her a sweet kiss, "I want you to stay by my side and never want to leave, because I won't allow it either."
