Rebecca did not understand the king, he was stern but also sweet, that made her feel confused.
-When I talk to you don't ignore me, I don't like it- Setherian told her as he gave her back her book.
-Yes- she said.
Setherian made himself comfortable and got into bed, he felt something strange moving under the covers, he caught it and pulled it out from under the sheets, it was Rebecca's fox.
-What is this?- He asked her.
-It's a fox, his name is Koda, he's my pet- she answered.
-And what is this fur ball doing in my bed?
-He used to sleep with me, it's the habit.
Setherian put it on the floor and said.
-I don't want it in my bed.
-But can it stay?- Rebecca asked fearfully.
-Yes, but don't let him get on my bed, let's go to sleep.
Rebecca settled her head on the pillow and said.
-Thank you.
-Why are you thanking me?
-For letting Koda stay with me.
-I told you I'd give you anything you wanted.
-Yes, but may I ask why.
-What do you mean?
-Why His Majesty wishes to indulge my desires? Why? I don't understand.
-I don't need a reason to do so.
-Setherian- the king spoke again.
-What?- Rebecca asked in confusion.
-We agreed that you would call me by my name.
Setherian reached out his hand, stroked her hair softly and said.
-Why can't you accept what I give you without question?
-Because I have never received kindness from anyone.
Setherian kissed her and said.
-Anyone in your place would take what I give without questioning everything.
-I would like to do it too, but I can't help thinking that all this will have a cost, I'm afraid to get used to what he gives me because I don't know how long this will last, I've been alone all my life and I've gotten used to loneliness, I don't want to get used to this, to his majesty's care, to his concern and that the day will come when I'll be like at the beginning again, forgotten in some corner of the palace.
-That won't happen, I've told you that many times before- Setherian hugged her -stop thinking about the past and live in the now, for that is what we have right now.
Even though the king told her that, Rebecca could not help but be afraid of what was to come.
A month later Rebecca's wound had improved greatly and with the coming of summer her desire to go out had become greater. That night when Setherian returned to the room Rebecca was waiting for him standing on the balcony enjoying the soft cool summer breeze that eased the stifling heat in the room. Since the heat had started, Rebecca did that every night.
-What are you doing on the balcony again? Setherian asked her as she entered.
-It's hot, I was cooling off.
Setherian used his wind magic to cool the room.
-Come in, I've already cooled the room- he said.
Rebecca came in, Setherian saw Koda sleeping on the bed, he put him down and asked.
