Family reunion

Shadow's POV

We were waiting outside. Faker had invited me, Tails, Rose, Knuckles, and Maria to come along to his little family reunion.
Rouge was busy with Omega on a mission so she wasn't coming.

I glanced at Sonic who was nervously fidgeting with his hands as we waited for the limo to pull up.
"Calm down, Sonic, you've gotten this far. Your family will accept you, I'm sure of it." I said softly in his ear, grabbing his hand and holding it.

He blushed and looked away, mumbling something under his breath.
He was just so adorable sometimes...
The long black car pulled up and we all got in. I sat next to Sonic and Tails sat next to him.

I still held his hand as the car pulled away from the house. Vanilla and Cream waved goodbye from the front porch since they promised to house-sit for Sonic and Tails.

Maria cuddled up next to me, giggling at something on her phone.

"What's so funny Maria?" I asked.

"Oh nothing just texting Surge, she can be so funny sometimes!" Maria giggled.

I grumbled.
I didn't like how close that tenrec was getting to Maria. Maybe I was just jealous that I wasn't the only person she hung around often.
She then snorted.
"She just texted me that Kit is trying to steal her phone to talk to me." She laughed.

"I'm real glad you two are getting along Mar! I knew that she'd like you when I introduced you to her!" Chuckled Amy.
"Yeah! She's a great friend! I just need my big brother here to warm up to her a little more." Maria said, lightly elbowing me.

"Tch, the 'warmest' I will get is letting her hang out with you without putting her head on my wall. That woman is dangerous, and Sonic can confirm that." I grumbled.
Sonic told me all about Surge and Kitsunami, like working with Starline, and the Dynamo cage.

"She's just had a bad run if I'm being honest, I'm glad that she's got a soft spot for some people other than Kit." Sonic answered happily.

I groaned and leaned back in my seat.
I listened to their conversation, but then I could hear Maria whisper to someone else.

"Hey, should we tell him-" she said in a hushed whisper, unaware that I was listening.

"Nah, I don't wanna tell Shadow just yet." Tails whispered back.

I would ask however I didn't want to confront them in front of everyone so I would ask Maria later.

"So, how do you think my family will react when I come out?" Sonic asked, gaining my attention once more.

"If they are rude about it, we're leaving and Vanilla will probably adopt you." I hummed.
"No family should treat you like garbage."

"Yeah, but I bet they'll accept you Sonic! Your mom is like the nicest person ever!" Said Amy.

"Yeah! And Manic and Sonia are awesome siblings! Also I'm pretty sure Manic is bisexual, so he'll definitely accept you." Said Tails.

"I'm pretty sure I'm bisexual!" Laughed Sonic.

"Really?" Asked Knuckles.

"Yeah, I think so, hey how about we all share our sexualities right now? I mean we all know Shads since he came out to us a while back." Said Sonic, lightly elbowing me.

"Well...uhm, I guess I'm bi too. Before I met Rouge I was actually...dating another guy..." Said Knuckles, blushing with embarrassment.

"I'm pretty sure I'm aro ace. I'm not really into love and all that stuff." Said Tails, shrugging.
