After I came out to my family (in an unexpected way) and Mom's announcement that she was getting married to another woman and introduced us to Bernadette things have been going great!
They've been visiting a lot, letting us get used to Bernadette.
And she's awesome. She's sweet and yet kinda confident and sassy.
She's also super supportive of me, and has gotten me and Tails lots of gifts with my mom.

"Here! I thought you'd like it!" She chirped, giving me a patterned Hawaiian shirt.
Except the pattern wasn't flowers, it was a bunch of small cartoon hedgehogs that were the colors of the trans flag!
"EEEE! I love it!" I squealed, holding the shirt close to me. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"You're welcome buddy." Bernadette chuckled.

They were still planning the wedding but along with that, Shads and I have been spending a lot more quality time together!
He's been awfully generous and such, and I've definitely been falling even deeper in love with him.
Currently we were walking through town, his hand clutching mine.
"So, Shads! Are you a cat person or a dog person and what breed do you want?"
"Cat person, and I would like a Maine coon or a black cat of some sort." He answered. "However, I'm saving money for something big at the current moment so I'm not interested with buying a pet."
"Why not? It'd be good for you! You live alone and I'm sure it gets to quiet for you sometimes..." I said.
Maria had moved out a week ago and got her own house finally, however I knew Shadow missed having his sister around to talk to her.
"Perhaps, however this endeavor I'm saving for at the current moment will have much more value in the bigger picture." He answered.
Chaos, I loved it when he talked fancy and business-like.
"Sounds cool, what's the thing your saving up for?" I asked, with a smirk.
"That is none of your business Sonic, I shall tell you when the time is ready." He stated.
"Alright fineee, so what are we doing today?" I asked.
"Why are you asking me? I'm simply here to support you. You decide where we're going." He answered.
"Alright fine, uhmmm, oh! Got it! How about we go get Gelato? There's a new parlor that opened on Main Street!" I said, excitedly. "And I'll pay for it since you're saving money!"
"Sounds good." He hummed.
"Race ya there!" I said, speeding up and running.
"Wha- cheater! You got a headstart!" He snarled, running after me.
I laughed and made it there first. He caught up then stood next to me with an unamused smirk.
"I suppose I should start calling you cheater instead if you keep doing that!" He chuckled.
"Nah! I know you like me too much to stop calling me faker!" I laughed, reaching for the shop's door handle.
Then I heard a crash.
My ears flicked towards the noise, and I immediately heard that all too familiar laugh.
"You heard that?" He asked.
"Eggman!" I said.
I then ran, following the sound of crashes and screams.
