Shadow's POV
I ironed my suit jacket while Rouge stared at the invite.
"Can't believe Aleena's getting remarried and she invited our entire team." Rouge said, setting the wedding invitation on the counter.
"Well, she asked if our team could be Sonic's escorts, seeing as he's still royalty and needs body guards. I guarantee that there will be some creeps trying to pull a stunt and attack the higher status guests." I said. "Plus, Sonic can't defend himself without hurting himself, he's still healing. And I will murder anyone who even tries to lay a finger on him."
"Okay, hon, I get it. He's your boyfriend and you love him a lot." Rouge chuckled.
After the interview a couple days ago, the news spread like a wildfire. Some of the public had taken it well, others...not so much. I had seen a few hate posts and videos made over Sonic's transition and some people tried even messaging, calling, and sending death threats to him in the mail.
He brushed it off though. He even figured out what to do with the letters.

"Yo! Shads! Do you still have that lighter?"
"Yes, why?"
"I wanna make a nice bonfire of these letters from my 'adoring fans'." He said with air quotes.
"Sure it's in the left drawer in the kitchen island."
"Kay thanks baby! Love you!"

Now the news got out about Aleena's and Bernadette's wedding, and fortunately that's drawn some attention away from Sonic.
The wedding was tomorrow and we were all preparing.
Sonic was napping at the moment, waiting for Maria to come back from the dry cleaners with his, hers, and Rouge's outfits.
Omega and Amy were with Metal in the living room, sewing an outfit for Omega since he said he wanted to look nice for the wedding.
Midnight was with Treble and Claire, helping them search for outfits.
Aleena and Bernadette had invited almost everyone we knew to the wedding, so I was hoping there wouldn't be any guests who have a certain dislike towards me.
I then heard the door swing open and the click of Maria's metal heels on the floor.
"Phew, thanks for helping me carry these out again!" She said to someone who had come in with her.
"Anytime Mar! I'm always free to help!"
Surge.
I groaned and went back to ironing as they walked into the kitchen.
"Hey Shadow! I'm back, and Surge helped me with carrying the clothes! Hope you don't mind if she stays for a minute!" Chirped Maria.
"Sure, that's fine." I said with a sigh.
I finished ironing and hung up my jacket.
Then I heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
Looks like Sonic woke up.
He walked into the kitchen, yawning.
"Oh hey guys!" He said tiredly.
"Did you have a nice nap?" I asked, kissing him on the forehead.
"Yeah, it was nice." He chuckled softly.
"Knew you two were dating." Snickered Surge.
I rolled my eyes and started to iron my pants. Sonic just wrapped his arms around my torso and rested on my back.
