Shadow's POV
I nervously adjusted the collar of my button up as I waited for Sonic to arrive.
Rouge had me dress in something that made me look like some hot guy you see on yachts in movies. The short sleeved button up that was unbuttoned at the top to show off my chest-fur and the high rise slacks.
I then fidgeted with my inhibitor rings as I kept my eyes on the path to the gazebos in front of me.
Come on Shadow, you got this. You're the Ultimate Lifeform, you can ask out one charmingly handsome and pretty hedgehog!
Then a familiar blue blur ran into view and skidded to a halt.
There he was.
Sonic was wearing brown corduroy slacks with an unbuttoned seafoam green short sleeve button up. He was wearing his binder top, and green high tops on his paws.
"Hey Shads!" He shouted, running over to me.
I could feel my heart rate jump as I stared at him in a daze. Here goes nothing.
"Hello, Sonic, you look amazing like always." I said with a smirk.
"Aw, thanks Shads!" He giggled, blushing slightly.
"Shall we?" I asked, nodding towards the gazebos.
He giggled and nodded and we walked to the one I had reserved for the two of us.
I had a gingham picnic blanket set on the floor, with plates and drinks. Sonic's present was sitting beside my spot.
"Oh wow, Shads, all this for little ole' me?" He gasped with stars in his eyes.
"Of course, now, this is your spot. And I sit over here."
I sat down in my spot and he sat down in his across from me.
"So what did you bring for food?" He asked with a smile.
"I brought your favorite." I said, mirroring his smile.
I pulled a container out of the basket sitting away from us, and opened it to reveal chili dogs.
"NO WAY?!? YOU MADE THESE FOR ME?!?" He exclaimed, practically jumping up and down in his spot.
"Yup, now calm down, hedgehog." I chuckled, setting down one in front of him.
"Aw, thanks Shads! You're the best!" He said excitedly. "By the way you said you have something to give me?"
"Oh yeah, I have two things for you. But one you get after we eat." I said with a smile.
"But these are for you."
I handed him the bouquet of daisies and forget-me-nots I had gotten for him.
"Woah! Shadow! Holy crap, I love these flowers! That's so sweet! Thank you!" He giggled, taking them and holding them close to his face to smell them.
"You're welcome, now let's eat shall we?" I asked.
~time skip~
"Oh my chaos Shads! That's hilarious!" He laughed as I finished my story.
We had been eating and talking for a good long while now, and then I glanced at the present next to me.
"Hey Sonic, since you and I are done eating, I have your present for you." I said, grabbing the wrapped package.
It was a brown paper package with a blue ribbon wrapped around it.
"Oooh, what is it?" He asked as I passed it too him and scooted over to sit down next to him.
"Open it and see." I said, a smile growing on my features.
I couldn't wait for his reaction.
He gently removed the ribbon then tore open the paper packaging.
Inside was a small stack of paper.
"Paper? What is this Shads? A job application?" He chuckled, looking over at me with confusion but amusement.
I snorted and wrapped my arm around his shoulder.
"Read what it says, stupid." I chuckled.
He chuckled lightly then looked back at it.
Then I saw him as he started reading.
His eyes widened as they scanned the page.
"Oh my chaos....no....no you didn't!" He gasped flipping through the papers.
"Yes I did Sonic. Read the last page." I chuckled.
He flipped to the back page and there I was.

"Y-you...You paid for my top surgery?!?" He gasped, gripping the paper even tighter.
"Yep." I said with a soft smile.
"B-but that costs like...60,000 to 100,000 dollars! How did you-"
"I was saving money, also my job pays well." I chuckled.
"You, you....Oh my chaos...I-I don't know what to say! I can't thank you enough!" He said, tears of joy pricking his eyes.
"You don't have to thank me Soni-mph!"
He interrupted me, by pressing his lips against mine.
He was kissing me.
I was being kissed by Sonic!
I could feel my tail thump against the wooden floor of the gazebo as he pulled away.
"S-sorry, I don't know what came over me!" He chuckled, nervously blushing.
I stared at him for a moment a bit stunned, and he looked away embarrassed.
"Sorry Shadow I probably should have-Eep!"
I interrupted him by grabbing him by the shoulders and smashing my lips onto his.
He was a bit stiff in shock at first but then relaxed and wrapped his arms around my neck. I wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him even closer to me. We kissed for a good minute, not wanting the moment to end. The world around us felt insignificant now, the only thing I felt was Sonic's warm body pressed against mine and our lips kissing.
We both pulled away for a moment staring into each other's eyes lovingly.
"Woah, uhm, you're a good kisser." He giggled, blushing even more than he already had.
"I could say the same." I purred, running my fingers through his quills.
"You know Sonic, there was another reason I wanted to speak to you here...after your present I was going to confess my love to you, however it seems you beat me to it."
"Since I'm faster?" He asked with a smirk.
"Sure, sure." I chuckled, kissing his forehead. "So, Sonic, will you be my boyfriend?" I asked with a smile.
He smiled and then looked in my eyes and I could see a twinge of pain. "A-are you sure you want me to be your boyfriend? I-I'm technically not even a real guy..." He sighed.
"Sonic, shut up, you're perfect and you are who you are. I love you either way, you're absolutely amazing and nothing about your body will change that for me." I said, not liking how he was putting himself down. "I love you so much, don't ever question that."
He giggled softly then looked at me with that soft almost angelic face.
"Thank you, and yes, I'll be your boyfriend. I love you, Shadow." He said softly, leaning in for another kiss.
"I love you more, Sonic." I said, kissing him once more.
