"did... Did she just?" Maya said looking at Gio who was sleeping and then at Carina.

"She did. She definitely did!" Carina said laughing a bit.

"I think it was the fever talking... Or the sleepiness or the medication... no... I don't think...." Maya said shaking her head. Carina could tell she was starting to freak out so she grabbed her hands.

"Hey... Look at me." Carina said grabbing Maya's attention. She took a deep breath while she nodded.

"It's ok bambina. Why are you freaking out?" Carina said looking at Maya.

"Because... I... I don't know if I can do this Carina. Be a mom. You've been doing such an amazing job with Gio and I don't want to mess that up. I don't want to mess up Gio like my dad did with me..." Maya said as she stood up and walked around the room.

"Maya... You won't mess anything up you know why? Because you are not your dad bambina... You are no where close to being your dad.You are Maya Bishop. You are sweet and kind and loving. That's a whole lot of things that your dad isn't. You'll be an amazing mommy to Gio. If she sees you as her mom that's because she feels safe with you bella. And I'm grateful for that because if there is anyone in this world that I want to raise my bambina with it's with you bella. I trust you one hundred percent." Carina said as she held Maya's face.

"You really don't think I'll mess her up?" Maya said with a slight smile.

"Mess her up no. Sure you'll make mistakes like every parent does because like I told you being a parent isn't easy. Shoot I still have a lot to learn about being a parent. It's a learning experience bambina and we will learn together and help each other along the way." Carina said making Maya smile slightly.

"Thank you baby. Thank you for trusting me with Gio." Maya said as she placed a strand of hair behind Carina's ear.

"Always bambina. I wouldn't trust anyone else to take the role you are taking in Gio's life. I love you bella." Carina said with a smile.

"I love you too baby. Forever and always." Maya said hugging Carina.

"Forever and always." Carina repeated the words with a smile before pulling Maya in for a kiss.

"Are you ready to go back home after tomorrow?" Maya asked as she pulled Carina closer to her while they were in bed.

"Noooo. Don't remind me." Carina said with a whine making Maya laugh a bit.

"I'm sorry my love." Maya said placing a kiss on Carina's shoulder.

"Do we have to go back? Can't we just stay here?" Carina asked as she turned around and buried her face into Maya's neck.

"I mean we can stay here baby but.... You have a job and I have a job and Gio wants to see Ford and Jeff..." Maya said running her hand up and down Carina's back.

"I just love being here with you. It's like our own little bubble. I'm not ready to leave it. I'm not ready to go back to reality." Carina said not letting go of Maya.

"I love being here with you as well my love... Trust me I don't want to go back either but-" Maya began.

"I know I know we have to go." Carina said as she let out a breath.

"I'm sorry baby." Maya said as she kissed her forehead.

"It's ok. Can we come back soon?" Carina asked looking at Maya.

"Of course. As soon as we get more days off." Maya said with a smile before both falling asleep.

The next morning Maya woke up alone in bed. She looked around and noticed how the sun was shining through the white curtains. She rubbed her eyes and checked the time only to see it was almost noon. She stretched a bit in bed before getting up to look for Gio and Carina.
