Cold Winter (Cole x Kai)

White stuff

„It's snowing!" Lloyd excitedly announced and jumped off the kitchen chair to run to the window. „Look Kai! Snow!" this isn't Lloyds first time seeing snow but he still is so thrilled. Kai stood beside Lloyd and watched the first snow flakes fall. It looked majestic but it also meant it's only getting colder from now on.

Seeing how Lloyd is this fascinated by the ice powder Kai wanted to make him happy and take him out to the city to experience the atmosphere of winter. „How about we go out for a bit? Eat something hot or so?" Kai suggested making Lloyd light up even more. With one go Lloyd sprinted out the room to tell everyone else. At the end no one was able to join except for Cole. „And where exactly are we going?" Cole asked Kai while they were putting on their coats and boots. „You'll see soon." Kai responded and gave his shoelaces one last pull.

From their apartment to the heart of the city was a long ride with the bus but who said they were going to take the public transport? „Ninjago!" with that the three summoned their vehicles to drive there. It took them around five minutes to arrive and of course they raced the whole way.

„I win!" Cole cheered and held his arms high up in a fist. „Only because you cheated u cheater." Kai huffed angrily and so did Lloyd. Cole won against the two cockiest of the team so they both are naturally bad losers. „Yeah you cheated! You pushed me to the side!" Lloyd argued. „First of all Lloyd I didn't push you I nudged you and that is allowed. How else was I supposed to surpass you. Second of all you were the one ramming your vehicle into mine so I would lose control. And Kai you were not better. You tried to take a shorter route but I anticipated it so I was able to hinder you. In conclusion you are the sore cheaters you cheater." Cole mocked them and went ahead.

Kai and Lloyd left speechless looked at each other. „He cheated" „Yeah" they nodded in agreement. With that they were satisfied and followed the black ninja. „Wait up alleged winner. We have to go right now." Kai called so that Cole would wait.

Cole stopped and closed the distance between them. „It's pretty close we just have to pass the main-." Kai was interrupted by something hard hitting him on the back.

Lloyd bursted out laughing while making a second snowball to throw it at someone. „You little-." Kai huffed whilst creating a fire surrounding him to melt the snow on his body. Kai also picked some snow up but he went for the soft snow since he doesn't want to hurt Lloyd.

Before he was able to throw it on Lloyd Lloyd got drowned in a massive amount of snow. Cole standing behind Lloyd grinned and cleaned his hands from the remaining snow that he threw on Lloyd.

Self assured he then wanted to move away but was surprise attacked from the side instead. Kai threw himself onto Cole making him trip and fall. Now the only thing remained was Kai and Lloyd shoving snow in Coles face while holding him down. This went on for a while of them playing in the snow and taking revenge on each other until they were tired.

The fight ended with all three laying on the soft white ground and breathing heavily to catch their breath. In a silent moment Coles stomach grumbled making the others look at him. „Hehe I'm hungry." Cole admitted with an awkward smile. Kai jumped up and held his hands towards the two to help them up. „Then what are we waiting for? Lets go eat." Kai suggested and started walking.

After a while Kai finally stated that they were there. It was a small shop in an alley hard to find if you didn't know about it. „It doesn't look...safe." Lloyd commented. „Nor clean." Cole also gave his opinion on the shop. „Trust me when I tell you this place makes the best hot pots in whole Ninjago." And with that Kai swung the doors open to reveal a nice and cozy looking place.

They walked up to the register to be seated at a table. „A table for three." Kai told the waitress. She led them to one in the edge of the room making it very private. „Kaaiii." A voice appeared making everyone turn. „How are you my man. Long time no see!" Kai brightened up by the sight of the old man. „I'm sorry for not visiting for so long...I was busy keeping Ninjago safe." Kai explained with a grin and gave the old man a gentle pet on the shoulder.

They talked for a while until the old men gave them the gesture to sit down. They sat down on the pillows laid out and stuffed their legs under the blanket of the table. It was quite comfortable and warm. „And for your hard work from saving Ninjago once again this meal will be on the house." with that the old man was gone and the food came right away making Coles stomach grumble even more by the sight of the food.

„Who was that?" Lloyd curiously asked and tilted his head to the side. „An old friend. He was a loyal customer of our family business. He is like an uncle to me since I know him since I was young." Kai answered and started with organising the food.

This made Lloyd and Cole realise that there is still a lot they didn't know about Kai. He never really talks about his past or even what he's doing in the present. But they couldn't do anything about this right now and there was something more important: The food!

After everything has heated up they all stormed on the food. „Oh lord have mercy on me!" Lloyd talked with his mouth full ready to push another portion of meat in his mouth. „You're asking your father for mercy?" Cole asked sarcastically making Kai choke on his food and laugh out loud.

Lloyd looked annoyed at them but couldn't keep his composure for long and started laughing too. They chit chatted and ate until there was nothing left. „I'm so full~ I need to go for little ninjas." Lloyd excused himself and went away.

„Kai...you barely ate anything." Cole finally addressed what he wanted to say the whole time but he didn't want Lloyd to hear it. „I'm not too hungry..." Kai said but didn't make eye contact with his friend. „I shouldn't have joined in the snow ball fight." Kai admitted making Cole realise that he was cold. „Lets go home and warm up then." Cole suggested making Kai look up to him and nod.

They have arrived back at their apartment within five minutes again. Kai rode with Cole since he was too uncomfortable to summon anything. Lloyd didn't think much of it because who doesn't want to be the passenger princess once in a while. At home all went to their rooms to clean up ang get ready for the evening.
