Cold Winter (Cole x Kai)

Cole and Kai looked at each other both knowing very well that Zane is on his way to tell the others. „I'll follow him and you'll stop him." Cole commanded and in one go the two boys ran after Zane.

Cole managed to catch up to Zane quickly and he stopped the Nindroid by standing in his way. „Zane can you listen to me real quick? I-" „No." Zane interrupted and walked past Cole but was now facing Kai. „Zane is that something pink on your clothes?" Kai asked and tilted his head in wonder.

Cole didn't believe Kais pathetic attempt to distract Zane. „Pink?! Where??" Zane looked frantically at his clothes searching for that spot. „Right here wait lets go to your room so that you can change into something clean." Kai suggested to which Zane agreed. „Are you kidding me?!" Cole thought and looked at the two boys in astonishment. It actually scared him a bit how Kai knew Zane so well.

In Zanes room Kai tried to reason with him in a rather sneaky way. But instead of begging him not to tell anyone he lied and told him a made up story of their situation. „So the reason why you were so close to each other is because you were wrestling?" Zane repeated Kais explanation while changing his top and Kai nodded.

„But I believe you had your lips on Coles which isn't really a wrestling tactic that I know of." Zane stated and was thinking about it. „Well, you know me! I'm flexibel and I like to try out new things." Kai continued while acting as if what he said wasn't abnormal at all.

„Yes you are right, your way of doing things is questionable at some times." Zane believed Kai and didn't give this matter any attention anymore making Kai sigh in relieve.

Outside Cole was waiting anxiously. It seemed like Cole really didn't want anyone to know but in reality he didn't care about that at all. But he knew that Kai wouldn't be comfortable about their secret being revealed.

The fire boy is known to be flirtatious and charming but he never was in a serious relationship. For him it has always been just a fun time enchanting girls with his charm in conversations but that's it.
He never wanted to go any further because the deeper it gets the less one was able to hide his feelings and true self.

Cole was sure that for Kai this is still a new experience and that he for sure isn't willing to share that information with everyone. For that sake Cole didn't mind if they keep their situation hidden from everyone. As long as he can stay by his side he didn't care about anything else.

The door opened and Kai finally came out of Zanes room glancing towards Cole. He gave him a small grin which reassured Cole that everything turned out fine.

Kai was about to say something but he stopped and froze for a moment. „What time is it?" Kai asked Cole in a rush and clearly nervous.

Cole looked at the other boy confused but then pulled out his phone to look at the time to give him the answer. „It's 12 am on point. Why are you asking?" Cole asked and wanted to put his phone back in his pocket. „Can you call Lloyd for me? My phone is in my room right now." Kai again talked in a fast manner with a worried expression. „Did something happen?" Cole now also worrying demanded a clear explanation to Kais behaviour.

After some time Kai has told Cole what had happened today to which Cole only shook his head. „At least you could have gone to your rooms where sensei Wu wouldn't see you. It's seriously your own fault for being caught. But you're right of course. Lloyd shouldn't be outside in this cold especially not alone."

Kai was relieved to see Cole siding with him and suggested to go out and search for the green ninja. Cole but didn't seem too amused by that idea. Even though Cole was also worried for Lloyd he still thinks they should wait until its morning.

Lloyd has been out since hours and he certainly has found a place to crash so it won't be necessary to go out and search for him. It's also very unlikely that they'll find him because who knows where he had gone.

„What do you mean let's wait? Lloyd isn't answering his phone and he's out there somewhere in the dark and cold! I won't let him stay outside any longer. I'm going." Kai angrily declared and walked off to the entryway.

His head was aching and he was angry for letting the situation escalate like that. If only he had gone after him or if he hadn't let him go in the first place or hadn't suggested to take a pause from training, this wouldn't have happened.

Before Kai was able to reach for his coat Cole grabbed him by his hand and pulled him away from the entrance and close to him. „Alright listen I will go look after Lloyd but I want you to stay here. If I need anything I'll call you." Cole didn't want Kai to go out. He is worried Kai might be affected badly by the freezing weather so the best thing to do is to volunteer himself to go.

Kai of course tried to argue but he shut up as soon as Cole leaned towards him with his face one inch away from Kais face. The fire boy turned red and tried to look away but Cole led Kais face back to his and looked at him. „That's an order." Cole with a cold expression stared at Kai who was clearly shocked by Coles demand.

Cole then let go of Kai and headed out to search for Lloyd leaving Kai standing in disbelief. His face was still burning and his heart was racing. This situation was new to him. Normally Cole would talk in a calm and kind manner which would convince Kai to stay but Cole chose another dialog today.

Kai still in his mentality hid his face in embarrassment. He couldn't believe himself for what he felt when Cole looked at him with that intimidating look. He had to admit he liked it „Fuck. What's wrong with me."
