Cold Winter (Cole x Kai)

Pity Party

Kai was surrounded by his loved ones who seemed happy and relieved to see their fire bender awake again. But he also noticed how everyone was tense and keeping a question they want to ask to themselves. They wanted Kai to explain as to why he endangered himself. Kai acted oblivious of this since he didn't want to talk about it making everyone crave more for the truth.

Even though Kai didn't mind them being around at that moment he rapidly felt more and more uncomfortable of that situation. The way they gave him stares of pity and talked in a soft and cautious manner made him feel like a monkey in a cage. „Bastards. They think I'm weak...Such assholes-" Kai paused at his thoughts shocked by his way of thinking. He shook his head trying to get a grip and stop being so dramatic.

„Kai u good?" Nya asked who noticed like anyone else how his mood changed within seconds. She went for a quick touch on the shoulder but Kai flinched angrily away.

Now everyone looked at him in silence until someone who had enough spoke up. „Seriously what is wrong with you?! Don't you see that your affecting everyone in the team with your behaviour?! Stop being such a bitch and say what's bothering you! You're being childish and unbearable." Jay complained with his arms crossed but Kai remained silent and looked down.

Nya answered on his behalf with anger in her tone. „He just woke up after being badly injured and this is how you treat my brother?! There is something wrong with you and not Kai. You literally have no sympathy at all and all you do is whine whine whine. Get your shit together and be a man for once by helping people out instead of making the situation worse." Nya attacked back standing in front of Kai as if she's protecting him from a potential attack.

Kai looked at his sister in disbelief. He liked it that Nya was siding with him but she didn't have to be so aggressive to her lover for that. Jay gasped dramatically in shock from Nyas statement. „NO SYMPATHY?!? Are you shitting me right now?! After all I've done for you? U know what Nya? Why don't you just marry Kai since you love him so much. You fit so well together.. both selfish and oblivious of the feelings of others!"

Jay counter-attacked making Nya want to yell back but Lloyd surpassed her by that. „For your record Kai is not selfish! Oh and Jay literally everybody knows that you're just jealous of Kai. You always feel threatened by his existence which is why you can't but argue with him." Lloyd who felt insulted in behalf of Kai talked with his chin up looking down at Jay.

Zane now got involved trying to put the fire out. „My friends please let's not continue such a pathless conversation. Kai made a mistake but we all have been there. Let us just-" „Kai didn't do anything wrong! It's Jay who escalated this." Nya spat from the side to which Lloyd nodded in agreement.

„Well technically Kai is the reason for all this. If he had opened up or at least warned someone of us we would have known what to expect. Jay just called him out for being reckless and non cooperative." Now Zane had opened a new window for another squabble but Garmadon didn't have any of that anymore. „I thought you were all worried about Kai but by the look of it you don't seem like you care for him. Arguing and fighting in front of him? Is that how you show him that you care?" Garmadon stated and pointed towards the bed were Kai should be but instead he was pointing at an empty bed.

Everybody looked at the empty bed never noticing that Kai had left. Even Garmadon looked with a surprised expression towards the bed. „Kai left around five minutes ago when you started arguing." Zane noted who seemed to be the only one who noticed. Nya was about to panic but Zane stopped her. „Cole followed him right after. Don't worry." Zane assured Nya who relaxed again.

During their bickering Kai got annoyed and left the room to get away from their obnoxious voices. Cole who never looked away from him walked behind him ready to go anywhere Kai would want to go. „Why are you following me you creep..." Kai said and gave Cole a glare who was now walking next to him. „Because I love being by your side." Cole boldly answered making Kais cheek turn pink. „Whatever.." Kai answered not having the energy to argue now.
