It had been a few days since you were put in the hospital mugman would often visit to bring you and the cup some clothes and take the dirty ones always checking in like a good sibling would.
But today..today was the day you could hopefully go home..
You looked at the cup beside you in bed and found he was hugging your arm with a large smile on his face.
You smiled in return at the cute act however when a doctor walked in the cup launched up as if sensing the intrusion and aimed a peashooter.
"Wow wow!" The doctor flayed his hands in the air in fear.
"C-cuppy hold your fire!"
The cup lowered his pointer finger took a deep inhale and exhale.
"Sorry.."
The doctor relaxed and nodded.
"It's alright..Ive got some good news miss Y/N your healthy enough to return home" the doctor declared
You and the cup both smiled but then the cup raised an eyebrow.
"What's the catch?"
He asked
"Well it is recommended she still stays off her leg so we'll be giving you some crutches for a few weeks and some doses of morphine to help with any intense pain or cramping she gets but apart from that your good to go" the doctor replied.
"I'll have a nurse come in and give you said crutches and doses of morphine to take home my best advice is don't let her do anything to crazy like go to a party or into the city streets keep her at home if you have to go out have someone watch her and if you have to buy any means have to take her out maybe go for a small walk around the house or apartment or wherever emphasis on small though because she'll be really exhausted after and it could cause discomfort" the doctor continued
Cuphead nodded.
"Dont your worry she won't be doing anything of a sort shes going to stay right at home with me safe and sound until she's all better huh princess?" The cup replied
You nodded.
The doctor smiled a little.
"Good to hear the nurse will be with you in a moment"
Just like that the doctor left the room and the cup looked at you.
"Hear that? You get to come home!" He happily declared you nodded with a large smile..it had been a while since you had been in the brothers apartment.
Just like the doctor said within a few moments a nurse came in with a little bottle and injection vile as well as 2 wooden crutches..
She simply placed them on the bed and left..
The cup hopped out of the bed and slipped the vile and bottle into his coat pocket.
"Alright princess you ready for this?" He asked walking over to you with the crutches as you flung your legs over the side of the bed..
"H-how do I? What type of stuff is? How do i? What do I??"
You questioned a little panicked and confused the cup was quick to calm you.
"Hey heyy~ it's okay they're called crutches they're going to help you walk without me just put your arms through Here look see? It's okay.."
He helped you feed your arms through.
"N-now- what? What do I?"
You asked
"You just stand here look I'll help you"
The cup did indeed help you to your feet but you didn't like the feeling of the crutches one bit.
"N-no no I don't like this I don't -"
"It's okay it's okay princess I know they feel weird but you'll get used to them"
"I- I don't want to-"
"I know it's scary but I'm right beside you..here do you want to take a little walk around the room so you can get a feel of them?" The cup asked
You nodded..cuphead smiled softly and helped you around the room following closely at your side so if at any time you lost your balance he could rebalance you with himself until you were ready to try again..
When you got the hang of it the cup still followed you closely out the room and soon the hospital your treatment already been payed for before..
You were so tired when you got out the hospital you took a breather..
The cup was patient he rubbed your back and said.
"Your doing amazing princess"
When you both got to the apartment complex you eyed the stairs with a groan of despair.
"It's alright we'll take it one stair at a time you've got this I'm right here just let me know if you need a break" cuphead replied
"I-i don't know how to-how do I?" You asked
You experimented with the crutches until you found out how to go up the stairs with them and as the cup suggested took it one stair at a time and he would do the same so he remained at your side.
When you were at the level the apartment was on you stopped out of breath and hunched over due to exhaustion..
"I-i can't I need to-"
"Okay it's okay you did an amazing job on the stairs princess A+!"
You smiled softly as he pecked your cheek but frowned again trying to catch your breath..
"I'm sorry I should've called a taxi or something we shouldn't have walked the doctor specifically said not to because you'd be exhausted"
"Its-its alright it's not like I'm going to go anywhere else.." you replied
Cuphead nodded but still felt bad so he waited with you until you were ready and lead you to the door of the apartment unlocking it with his key.
The door opened to reveal mugman cooking he looked at you both in suprise.
"Your home! I didn't know you were coming home today! How wonderful! Oh- oh Y/N your in crutches! How long will she be in those for cups?" Mugman cheerfully then worriedly asked
The cup helped you to the one seater lounge chair and helped you sit before replying.
"A few weeks she's absolutely exhausted though the huge walk here and then up all those stairs with one good working arm? She's tired aren't yah princess??"
Cuphead replied then asked
You nodded and rested your head on a pillow on the already cushioned lounge chair.
"Aww you poor thing would you like some water? I'm just cooking some lunch now why don't you too relax and resettle yourselves and I'll get you guys some food and water" mugman replied
"That would be lovely mugs"
"Wh-wheres where's daisy?" You asked
Mugman frowned a little.
"Unfortunately after we freed Cagney daisy was given the choice to stay with us or go back to Cagney and he chose Cagney.." mugman replied
You and cuphead shared a look with sad eyes..
Mugman loved daisy..
"I'm just kidding hey daisy! Guess whos home!" Mugman piped up.
Within a few seconds daisy came out of the hall and the second he spotted you and cuphead he bolted over and hugged the cups legs.
"Woah hello to you to daisy!"
Cuphead scooped him up and gave him a hug which daisy returned..
"It's good to see you daisy! I'm glad you decided to stay!"
Cuphead declared daisy hummed happily then noticed you and made a concerned hum.
"You wanna say hello? You gotta be gently daisy she's really tired and weak at the moment"
Cuphead replied softly leaning the daisyling in to greet you..
Daisy leant out a hand which you gently took in your own.
"H-hi daisy.." you replied
Daisy hummed saddly and looked at the cup.
"It's okay I'm taking care of her she'll be alright" he declared
Cuphead put daisy down and mugman walked over with two glasses of water passing one to the cup and one to you..you gently took it with your good hand.
"Thank you mugman" you praised..
The mug smiled and gave you a gentle nod.
"Perhaps you should go for a nap after lunch?" Mugman suggested "it'll help regain some strength after your long walk here and up all those stairs" he continued
You nodded and the cup after his glass of water agreed to.
"Good idea mugs"
You felt a little bit of pressure on your leg and looked down it was daisy..
He was tugging on your pants and humming in concern..
"Wow wow daisy watch her leg!"
Mugman panicked
"Easy daisy!" Cuphead panicked both jumping into action to move the daisyling but..you dismissed them softly.
"N-no no it's okay..your just worried aren't you daisy?"
The daisyling nodded and outstretched his arms..
"Can I hold him?" You asked softly
Mugman nodded and picked him up for you and gently put him on you in a position that wouldn't and didn't cause any pain..
Just like that you stayed with daisy while the brothers finished making the lunch and when the lunch was done and down that hatch inside your belly's the cup helped you to your shared room together for a nap..
Which you gladly accepted what an exhausting journey home..
At least now you were somewhere you recognise.. some where you felt as safe as safe could be..somewhere were you were only surrounded by loved ones in an environment that calmed you more then anything.
Home sweet home with the brothers and no fear of being taken..not again..not ever again..
