The four rookies decided to go on a run at the beach since it was close enough for them to do so. Charlotte began to rant about small things to Jackson about how her father keeps trying to text her and she keeps ignoring them, "I don't know if I'm ready yet. I finally got over what happened with my mom and siblings but him dropping this bomb on me, I'm not ready."
"You will be. He'll be there still when you are..." Jackson assured Charlotte. "I thought we were here to run," Jackson called out to the two walking in front of them.
"Oh, yes, we are. We just need a little more warm-up than you two do," John explained.
"You two look great, though," Lucy said with a sarcastic smile on her face.
"Okay, you think you're cute..."
"Job's a marathon. And we aren't gonna be the one who falls by the wayside because we didn't train," Charlotte commented as she ran ahead of the three.
"Looking good! You're a beast!" John called out to Charlotte. "Is everything good with Charlie? She seems stressed," John asked Jackson.
Jackson let out a sigh, "Yeah, just family stuff."
"Is everything okay? She never talks about her family," Lucy asked Jackson.
"She just found out something about her father and isn't too happy about it," Jackson answered.
Charlotte felt a tear fall down her face and quickly wiped it away as she continued to jog along the beach and Jackson eventually caught up with her.

Charlotte smiled and was clapping along side the rest of the officers in the briefing room as Tim Bradford walked in. He found an orthopedic pillow in his seat and popped it with a pen he had. "All right, all right, all right. Settle down. Settle down. Let's get to it. You ready, Officer Nolan? Cause once again, we start with you," Grey said as everyone sat down.
"I'm flattered?" John said confused about what he did this time.
"Don't be. Yesterday a four-man crew disguised as zombies knocked over a cash advance near Pico and Robertson. So, Officer Bishop and Nolan were able to apprehend two of the criminals, while the other two escaped. Somehow, Officer Nolan managed to let a civilian steal ten grand in already stolen cash. Luckily, CCTV captured our thief. Still waiting on an I.D."
"Uh, he plays guitar, if that helps," John stated.
"Absolutely. 'Cause they always list special talents on your rap sheet," Grey sarcastically said as someone knocked on the briefing room door. "Captain. How can we help you?" Grey asked as Andersen walked into the room.
"First off, I wanted to welcome Tim Bradford back. If you need anything, you let me know," Andersen said looking at Bradford.
"Yes, ma'am," Bradford said.
"Secondly, we just got some new intel on our zombies. Turns out that they're responsible for a rash of armed robberies in the last six months, always disguised differently. Detectives want to get the two in custody to flip on their partners at large, but there is no guarantee, so don't stop hunting. Finally, we got a request for a civil standby. Turns out somebody's getting fired from a tech job. Supervisor's worried things may not go right." Andersen explained to the officers.
"Babysitting a termination: A patrol officer's favorite assignment. So, who shall I bless with it?" Grey said causing John to raise his hand. "Officer Nolan, are you volunteering?"
"Just embracing the inevitable, sir," John replied.
"Smart man. Get the address from Dispatch. That's it."
