You woke to see it was time to set out and get ready, "Mmph...! Time to get ready and prepare for the Semifinals!"You did some stretches to wake up your body and get the blood flowing.
Then your phone was signalling you had multiple notifications, "Huh? Who's texting me this early—Gah!" An angry vein appeared when realizing who it was.
You threw your phone away in anger, and the device landed on the bed, "Humph! Why is he saying such things so early in the morning? Were his opponents for goodness sake! He should have some decency!"Your mother appeared after knocking, "Sweetie? I noticed your bag was ruined, so I got you the old one I kept intact for this situation!" She smiled, showing the luxury bag.
"Woah! Mom! This is exquisite! It may look old but it could be sold for millions at this age...!" You looked surprised before smiling at your mother, "Thank you so much! I'll take good care of it!"
The woman smiled back at her daughter, "No problem! Breakfast is ready and I got you those energy drinks and snacks for your team you can give!"
"Right! Thanks again!"
You quickly got ready after taking a quick shower and brushing your teeth. You sorted out your hair after putting on some lotion to keep your skin from drying up in the cold, "Okay! All good."
Your father was seen reading some newspaper before smiling when seeing you, "Oh! Hello, sweetheart. Did you sleep well? I heard your team made it to the semifinals. Good job!"
You gave a confident smile, "Thanks, Dad! I'm proud of Kagami and the others! We're facing off Ryo-kun so I'm sure the team is fired up for a rematch."
Your mother perked up at the name, "You mean Kise-kun? The boy you used to be the manager of with the other boys in Teiko?" You gave a nod, "Yep! Not only that, but we're facing off against Kasamatsu-san, a point guard who appeared on Basketball Monthly occasionally!"
The older woman gave a teasing glance at you, "Ah. I see. Well then, you better not lose sight of whose side you're on, sweetie!"
Hearing that made you flinch slightly, "I know whose side I'm on, Mom..."
Your father only sighed at your mother's antics, "Love, please don't egg her own. She's young. She can have favourites. You did the same when you were my manager back when I was still active in the world of basketball."
Your mother grew a little offended and hit her husband, "Hush you! I was merely cheering her on to get herself a boyfriend! And a captain who's also a point guard is a pretty good catch."
