I jump up and manage to grab one of the creatures strangling me, but the other flies behind me, causing my throat to close. I gasp for air, indirectly letting the creature go. It immediately starts trying to fly away.
I start to feel the other demobats getting close to breaking through my scaly hide. I have to break free of them. Do I go smaller? That's how I got free of the vine that brought me here, but the only smaller form I have if my human one and it has basically no defense.
If I can't go smaller, I'll just have to go bigger. My body balloons in size, aside from my arms, which shrink.
While the demobats around my neck try to choke me, the sheer force is stronger than their hold. Their tails unravel, no longer long enough to wrap around my neck and choke me. With my body newly transformed, new scales are in place of the damaged ones, leading the other demobats to have to restart if they want to get through to me.
I turn around and try to snap them up, but end up going in circles, like a dog chasing its tail. I shrink back down, growing a frill as well.

With the sudden shrinking, all the bats are dislodged from my body. I turn to help Steve, his chocked screams ringing through the air. As I turn, I see Nancy thwacking one of the demobats away. It whimpers as it rolls away.
Standing next to Steve is Nancy, Robin, and Eddie, armed with oars and the flashlight Steve dropped when I took him back to the surface.
"Hey there," says Nancy, before batting away the other one biting at Steve's sides. "Quick! Hold it, Robin!"
I run over to meet them as Robin runs around and stomps on the tail of the one choking Steve. "I got it. Get it!"
"Kill it! Kill it!" Eddie yells as Nancy stabs at it repeatedly.
It bays in pain, causing the other demobats to notice them and start flying towards them. I try to yell at them to go back, but it just comes out as a roar.
"Shit!" Eddie shouts as he sees the bats. The first one dives at him, but he hits it with his oar. "Yeah! Come on!"
"Nancy!" Robin shouts as she joins in hitting the one choking Steve with the flashlight. "Come on! Please!"
"Nancy, behind you! Watch out!" Eddie yells as one latches onto her back.
Nancy yelps.
"Oh my God, Nance!" Robin rushes to her aid and starts trying to pull it off her.
"Robin, get it off me!"
Eddie swings his oar, smacking one of the incoming demobats, but the oar breaks. "God damn it! Shit!"
With his sides no longer being mauled, Steve manages to grab a hold of the tail of the one choking him. He wrestles it off his neck and stands up with it. "Come here!"
