Nancy's POV

Dr. Brenner puts down the tattoo gun with an echoing clang. He wiped the tattoo, before saying, "All done. Not so bad, was it? See. There's nothing to be afraid of. Is there, Nancy?"

My heart jumps in my throat. Brenner looks at me. "Why don't you take a seat?"

Immediately, I turn and run. I have to get out of here. I exit the door and it looks like we're in a hospital. However, the lights are flickering and I can see blood stains on the white tile walls, and corpses on the ground. Security guards, hospital staff, scientists, more children like El and Kassandra. In the distance I can hear screaming.

I turn and run the other way. I get to a T intersection and run left.

Max's POV

"Nancy, just stay with me. Stay with me, okay? Whatever you guys are doing up there, hurry up!" Steve shouts.

Erica runs down to Eddie's room to tell the others who are looking for music. In the meantime, I'm trying to stop Kassie from running back into the Upside Down. The super powered girl keeps moving, pacing back and forth, running her fingers through her hair. I can see her start to grow and shrink as she struggles not to shift. Her muscles contract and release, nearly spasming as she has to fight her own instincts. She groans and whines pitifully, causing my heart to break seeing her in this much distress.

"Kassie, it's okay," I try to reassure her. "We're getting the music."

"Steve says you need to hurry!" Erica shouts

"Yeah? No shit!" Eddie responds.

"We're trying. We can't find anything," says Robin, panicking. "Seriously, what is all this shit?"

"What are you even looking for?" Eddie asks.

"Madonna, Blondie, Bowie, Beatles? Music! We need music!"

"THIS IS MUSIC!!!!"

Kassie opens her mouth, but all that comes out is a familiar high-pitched screech she makes in her raptor form. As she turns, I can see her neck returning to human form as the scales ripple down to her shoulders, and down the rest of her body. A spiked tail starts to form, but Kassie retracts it. Her hands turn into claws, which scratch her head as she clenches them into fists. She winced in pain as she starts to hyperventilate.

Nancy's POV

I run through the hallways, until I get to a boarded up door. I know something is behind me, but there's no where else to go. I start pulling on the boards, but they aren't budging.

"Son of a...."

I can't die. I won't die. Jonathan, Steve, Robin, Eddie, the kids, Mike, Holly, Mom, even fucking Dad. I can't die!

One of the boards comes loose. I toss it to the ground and start on another. "God!"

"Nancy."

I slowly turn around and there he is. Henry... One... Vecna.... The fleshy humanoid monster slowly walks towards me.

"What are you doing? It's not time for you to leave."

Fuck that. Fuck this. I'm getting out of here. I go back to pulling on the boards. I just need enough out of the way so I can slip through. Another breaks off.
