Season 4, Chapter 2: Vecna's Curse

Max's POV

I shoot up in bed, gasping and panting, with another headache. I head to the kitchen and grab my Tylenol. I cup my hand under the dripping faucet and turn in the faucet. once my hand is full of water, I take the Tylenol and drink the water.

In the distance, I hear police sirens wailing. All the dogs in the trailer park start barking. I exit my trailer and see 4 police cars driving into the park and stopping right outside the Munson house. Eddie's uncle is sitting outside, waiting.

My mom, awake at last, walks up behind me. "Looks like that Munson boy's up to no good again."

I start walking towards the trailer to get a better look. Just as I get a glimpse inside, a hand grabs my shoulder. Panic shoots through my system, and I spin around, pulling my shoulder out of the grasp of the policeman.

"Hey! You can't be out here. Get back inside." I look back, despite the policeman. "Back inside."

I run back to my trailer. I need to tell someone in the know about this. Chrissy Cunningham is dead. And not from methods of this world.

Kassandra's POV

I am so excited! Max is finally coming over! I have so much I want to show her!

Right now, we are waiting for them to come out. Argyle, Jonathan, Will, Cody, myself and Jane sit in a row. Argyle and Jonathan both stare out into space as Will and Cody talk about bands like the Clash. Jane and I wait with baited breath, looking for Mike and Max respectively.

It is the craziest thing.  I was so excited for Max to come, I woke up in the middle of the night and could not get back to sleep for a while afterwards. Over the PA, I can hear that their flight from Indianapolis just landed.

Jane is the first one to see Mike. She stands up, a smile breaking out onto her face. She calls out for him and waves, a bouquet of flowers in his hand, tacky clothes making him look like he is going to the beach rather than meet his girlfriend. Jane rushes over, giggling happily.

"That's Mike?" Cody asks. "From the way you described him, I figured Jane was only with him cause he was hot. So why is she with him?"

I am too busy looking for Max to answer Cody. Will, however, is ready.

"He's not that bad looking." Will defends.

Cody raises an eyebrow. "Really?"

"What?"

"Nothing." Cody says, raising his hands in defense.

Jane and Mike kiss and hug. We all get up and join the happy couple. I look around, yet do not see Max anywhere.

Mike gives Jane a bouquet of yellow and purple flowers. "It's a gift. I, uh--I handpicked those for you in Hawkins. I know you like yellow, but now I'm realizing it's too much yellow." Jane looks at the card and her smile drops. "I know you also like purple, so I got you purple as well. So I kinda did, like a 70/30 split kinda thing."

"They're perfect. Thank you." Jane says.

"Oh, hey!" Mike says awkwardly, finally noticing us. He hugs Will. "How you doing?"

There is a brief moment were we sit in the awkwardness.

"Hey, Mike." Jonathan says.

"How you doing?" Mike greets.

"Yeah, good, man." Jonathan replies.

"This isn't awkward at all," Cody whispers to me, making me smirk.
