Jasper's wails kept her up all night. Between that and the constant complaints from other members, Astrid quickly gathered her blanket and her jacket she used as a pillow and nestled herself between two roots along a towering tree. It was just as comfy as the solid metal ground, but the comfort of the stars above allowed her to sleep with ease. Even with the looming feeling of somebody lurking in the distance. In the morning, Astrid woke to find most of the other members already awake. Probably after a sleepless night, thanks to Jasper.

"Atom is being such a prick." Octavia muttered as Astrid sharpened some scrap metal beside crackling embers. Her underlying boy troubles between Atom and Bellamy were the least of Astrid's interest, but she was her friend. Her only friend. So she at least owed it to Octavia to listen to her rant. "Bellamy is constantly overstepping, and I'm getting sick of his problems overlapping mine. If he wants to have control of this camp, fine, but he can't control who I sleep with."

"Did you tell him that?" The only question Astrid could think of.

Octavia sighed heavily in frustration, running fingers through her hair. "Do you think he listened? I mean, it's Bellamy."

"Right. His head is so far up his ass I don't think he would listen to much anyways." Astrid always wondered what it would be like to have a family. One that actually cared and loved another. A sibling, a parent, or even a friend she loved so much they were like a sibling, such as Jasper and Monty's case.

Jasper's screams from the drop ship behind them halted the conversation. Octavia whisked away to his cries, leaving Astrid to stumble after her. Part of her wondered why Clarke fought so hard for the boy she barely knew, but realistically, one more body against the Grounders could help save them, or be their ruin. It was fight or flight out here, and the way the camp was going, it would be more flight than fight.

"Stop it! You're killing him!" Octavia rushed next to Clarke in a near panic. Jasper was knocked unconscious from the pain. Face painted white with beads of sweat against his forehead. Breath running ragged from the infection.

"She's trying to save his life." Finn snapped back, still positioned next to Jasper. A flicker in his eyes as he shifted his stare from Octavia to Clarke. Nearly unreadable from Astrid's distance along the far wall, next to Monty.

"She can't." Bellamy stared over the group with a dismissive tone. Clarke bit back her words, but Wells had no problem facing Bellamy down. The tension between the two made the drop ship stuffy. Heavy with alpha male competition.

Clark finally chimed in, a small attempt to support Wells, "We didn't drag him through miles of woods just to let him die."

"Kid's a goner." Bellamy snapped back. It might have been true. But this was also the kid who tried to save his sister's life. His lack of faith would be contagious if it wasn't in check. "If you can't see that, you're deluded. He's making other people crazy."

"Sorry if Jasper's an inconvenience to you, but this isn't the Ark." Clarke was nearly at her wits end with him. Between saving his life and the sleep deprivation, she was losing her temper quickly. Everybody was. "Down here, every life matters."

"Take a look at him. He's a lost cause."

"And if it was your sister?" A cold tone rolled off Astrid's tongue as she challenged the leader of the 'No-Rule Club'. Bellamy flipped his head towards her, the harsh exterior melted a bit with the mention of his sister. "If it was your sister, would it be a lost cause? Or would you want Clarke to do everything in her power to help her. You don't get to pick and choose who's worth it or not. Cause if you did, you're no better than the chancellor."

The words struck deep in Bellamy as he blinked at Astrid. Perhaps he was realizing he was becoming everything he fought so hard against. The unspoken rules, the dictatorship, now choosing who lives and who dies. For a man hating the chancellor so much, he was tiptoeing the line to become him very quickly. Octavia only ducked her head down, knowing the true answer. Of course he would fight for her. If Astrid had a sibling, she would too.
