4 months on the Ring and things slowly began settling into place.

Fire no longer encased Earth. Everybody had gotten in a habitual schedule to help them pass time. It helped the repressed feeling they still had another 4 years and 8 months to go.

Today was different. There were more pressing matters that Astrid needed answers to. Since their arrival on the space station, Astrid had tasked Raven and Monty with cracking the archive files deep within the Chancellor's office. A small attempt to find more clues to the mystery of her past.

There was more to the story than Abby told them that day in the bunker. Something in her gut told her so.

When Raven cracked open the door to her room that morning, careful not to wake the slumbering man beside Astrid, she knew there was a lead.

Astrid padded the metal floors on bare feet as she followed Raven to the control room. She wrapped the mute colored cardigan around her frigid body. It was eerily quiet besides the constant beeps and whirrs of their machine home.

It was rare that anybody was up this early. Sleep was the best thing to make time go by fast. Whenever her body allowed her, she indulged in the extra sleep. It was more often than not she awoke early after a restless night and walked the perimeter of the Ring just to pass time.

Bright screens and the clacking of the keyboard woke Astrid from that drowsy state. At the main desk, she saw the familiar mahogany hair working furiously on the computer.

"Couldn't sleep?" Raven whirled the chair to face her. She shook her head.

"I keep expecting Clarke to radio." Her words were sullen. Everyday, they waited for that call that she was alive. But as the days dragged on, most of them started to question if she was still down there. Wondered if the people in the bunker had made it as well.

Astrid always had faith that her friends and people were alive.

As Astrid approached her, Raven spun the chair around to face the bright screen of the computer again. "Any luck on getting into the Chancellors files?"

"That's why I grabbed you." Raven punched in a few keys before the entire screen lit up with a long list of random numbers and letters, "I cracked into this an hour ago. It's a list of the Chancellors' video logs dating back to 50 years ago."

Astrid marveled at the list, "Is there any way to specify the search? Maybe 6 years ago?" Raven typed in some code, and the list condensed to over a dozen files. Astrid pinched the bridge of her nose. "We're gonna have to watch them all, aren't we?"

"Yup." Raven popped the 'p' in a sign of annoyance before she clicked on the first video. It wasn't like they had anything better to do with their time. They were stuck floating in space and slurping algae soup until there was a sign Earth was habitable again. Astrid slouched in a chair beside her, crossing one ankle over another as they dived into the long hours of video footage.

They had just finished the fourth video when they heard footsteps approaching them. Astrid kept her eyes fixed on the screen, searching for any sort of information, but Raven turned to face the new addition.

"I thought I heard the Chancellor's voice." Bellamy said, still rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Dark curls were sticking up randomly. Wheels propelled the chair backwards as he flopped in it.

Raven clicked on the next video as Astrid said, "I'm looking for answers. To the thing." She didn't want to say it out loud. She didn't need to either.

A fuzzy image of a disheveled Jaha popped on the screen. There was obvious concern on his face.

"It has been... 197 days since being elected Chancellor and for the first time, something has happened that has never occurred before."
