"Once Skaikru opens the bunker, they are dead!" Astrid seethed as she stomped the length of the sacred room. "I want the head of whoever is responsible before they can even step out!"

"I assure you, my Queen, it will be done." Indra whispered to the small group that gathered around them. Holkom, Indra, and Roan were the only people in the room after Astrid demanded the rest leave.

"Astrid..." Roan reached for her shoulder to calm her anxious pacing, but she quickly yanked it away.

He wasn't used to being her voice of reason, but this was one of the rare moments he needed to be. The lingering effects of the battle were still heavy on her shoulders.

"I did not kill four people in battle, claiming the bunker for the entirety of the clans, just for Skaikru to deem us all to death! After everything-"

"Wait," Indra interrupted her, "Four?"

Those words finally had Astrid stop mid-step. She hung her head low, unable to meet the curious eyes that peered into her soul, "I may have knocked Octavia out and taken the token."

"Damn right you did." An unexpected voice had the entire group whirl their heads towards the entrance. "What's going on?"

Indra stepped forward, assisting a wobbly Octavia to their small circle as he explained, "Astrid announced the bunker would be shared with all the clans, but Skaikru has taken upon themselves to claim it."

"Where's Bellamy?" Octavia's eyes scanned the room and immediately noticed his lack of presence. Once Roan explained he never returned after investigating something suspicious, Octavia ran over to the walkie talkie laying haphazardly by the crypt door and called for her brother, for anybody to answer.

A familiar crackle emitted over the radio indicating somebody was listening, "Bell, what the hell did you do?"

"It wasn't me, but I'll fix it." Bellamy radioed back. Astrid quickly snatched the radio from her hand, clicking the button to speak.

"Bellamy, listen. When I won the conclave, I decided we were going to share the bunker. A hundred from each clan. Kane is out there buying time, helping clans select their people and Gaia somehow convinced the scouts to lock down the temple. So, unless Skaikru wants to join the masses of dead, I suggest you open the bunker right now."

"Bell, we don't have much time." Octavia said as she grabbed the radio from Astrid. His voice was clear one moment, then a sudden crackle before it was dead silent.

It felt like agony to sit and wait for that bunker door to open. Roan's eyes just tracked the eager pacing Astrid, cursing profanities under her breath. He hadn't seen her this deep in rage since she was locked in that cell. Even then, that seemed like a flicker of a flame to the burning pyre she was now. It felt like somebody might scorch themselves if they entered her radius.

So, Roan and the other's stayed away.

When the door to the chamber cracked open, the Flamekeeper timidly spoke to the Queen, "The rain has stopped. The clans are coming. Should we stop them?"

Astrid craned her neck up to the ceiling deep in thought. Squeezing her eyes tight, letting loose a pent-up breath, "Let them come."

The Flamekeeper bowed his head and tiptoed out the door. Ambivalence hung over the group as they watched the Queen sit beside the King, eyes firm on the bunker door. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. Roan took the moment to reach for her shaking hand, brushing the pad of his thumb over it slightly. Slowly, he began to feel those heightened emotions settle.

"What are we going to do?" She whispered as a glassy film formed over her eyes. She had fought for it, given everything she could have for the sake of humanity, to save the clans, just for it to be taken away by Skaikru greed.
