Pretend The Prey

CHAPTER 1

I was in a deep sleep when someone rudely interrupted my beauty rest. Who in the world calls me this late at night!?

I immediately answered the phone, after reaching it without even opening my eyes.

"Who the hell is calling me at this ungodly hour?" I grumbled.

"Queen! Gusto mo talagang malate sa first day of school?" says the irritating voice from the other line "That would be so embarrassing!"

Late? Nangpaprank ba 'tong bruhang 'to? Gabi pa kaya– 6:19!? What the hell.

I tried to keep my cool so I wouldn't look like the one at fault.

"You just ruined my beauty sleep, you moron. As if I care na malate ako or not" I responded, rolling my eyes even though she couldn't see me.

"Eh? Ikaw nagsabi na ayaw mong malate today ako pa sinisi mo" she retorted

Yeah, right. I forgot.

"Sige na. Baka mainis ako lalo at ipaexpel kita" I threatened, and then hung up the call.

Another year of academic struggles, another year of fooling around, and I'm sure that it would be fun!

Masigla akong bumangon habang sumasabay ang aking katawan sa musikang ipinapatugtog ko ngayon.

Tuluyan na akong nakabangon saka kinuha yung hairbrush sa ibabaw ng lamesa para gawin yung mic at humarap sa salamin at sinasabayan yung kanta.

Hinawi ko din yung kurtina ng malaking bintana dito sa kwarto ko. To let the sunlight inside my room.

Today is a sunny day. Perfect day for the first day of school.

I can feel the vibes of the music running through my system, I'm dueting with the music while pointing at myself in the mirror singing as if I'm having my own concert.

I was jumping all over my room and my bedsheets were getting messy. Tsk, as if I care. I keep on feeling my morning jam and it's giving me that intoxicating feeling.

Gosh! How I love this music.

Three knocks were heard at my door moments later, I had an idea who it was. I opened the door while the music was still blaring.

"Yes?" I answered her.

"Your breakfast is already prepared, Miss Aki" Sabi ng maid.

"Okay. Keep it hot. You know how I hate eating cold food" napatango-tango naman ito saka nagbow. Matapos nyang umalis ay sinarado ko na yung pinto.

I turned the music off and headed to the shower. It took me maybe... 10 minutes, I don't like staying in the shower for too long. I'm not a fan of the feeling of being wet. I wrapped my hair in a towel and my body in a bathrobe. Moments later when I heard my phone ringing again.

"Hello?"

"Queen, I'm outside your mansion" It's Darcy, my annoying friend, the only one I considered a friend.

I pick-up my hair dryer and plug it in.

"Aga mo manggambala Darcy! Aren't you afraid that I'll expel you?"  I threatened half-jokingly.
