An elegant dress was dropped off for me in my room. I had gotten myself ready. I had my hair curled and half up. My makeup was done. My corset was tied tight under this wonderful gown. I had gloves on.

I felt like a real princess.

There was a knock on the door.

"Come in."

Steve snuck in, looking at me. I had just finished putting my heels on.

"Oh umm...hi my lord."

"Elenor.." he whispered. I hummed.

"It's not much."

"Oh my god Elenor."

"Stop."

He came over, kissing me. His hands rested on my cheeks.

I pulled away. "It is not much."

"Isn't much? Darling.."

I giggled. "Stop."

"It's better than I imagined you in this dress."

"Wait...you picked this for me?"

"Yes."

"Steve.. this makes me like it more. I already feel like...like.."

"Royalty?"

"Yes."

"That's what I was aiming towards. Oh! My mother had a gift for you."

He handed me a small satchel. I opened it, finding a necklace.

"Oh my..."

It had a beautiful diamond in the middle. Steve turned me, clasping it on.

I moved it between my fingers. Steve kissed my shoulder, glancing at me in the mirror.

"I like you better nude."

I slapped his chest, laughing. "You are such an arse."

"Sorry. I apologize. You're so beautiful." He said. I pulled him into a kiss.

"You don't look too bad either." I said. I glanced at his blue suit, with his crown sitting on his head.

It almost felt like the first day I got to really know him.

"Elenor."

I glanced over, seeing Steve standing in the doorway of the kitchen. There was a ball going on.

"You cannot be in here your highness." I said.

"I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday. And that I have something in my room right now if we run off."

I knew exactly what he was going to do. I had just turned eighteen. He was waiting.

"I don't want you getting in trouble."

"No one will even know I'm gone."
