Elenor had been sick for several days, and at this point, I was more than worried.

No one would let me in, but I was at my wits end.

I handed Laura over to my mother. "I have to go see her."

"No Steve. She's very ill."

"I have to. I'm going mad."

"We cannot have a king and queen dying."

"Take her, I'm going. I will quarantine myself if need be."

"What about your daughter? Who is to watch her?" My mother asked. I sighed.

"I have to go see her." I said. Laura laid her head on my shoulder.

"She is safe. She's in the hands of doctors and care. Let them work."

I looked at my princess on my shoulder. She was falling asleep.

"When can I try and see her?" I asked.

"Ask Bruce. It is up to him."

I sighed. "I'm going to set her down to rest."

"Do not do anything irrational."

"Alright." I said.

I went to put Laura in her room with a nurse. Once I was done I went over to ours. I quietly opened the door.

Bruce was talking to nurses. Elenor was on the bed, looking very ill. And with her stage of pregnancy...

"My king. You cannot be in here." A nurse said. Banner whipped his head to me.

"Get put." He said sternly.

"No. I want to see my wife. What is wrong? I've heard nothing and I have to see her."

My anxiety had boiled up from this. Banner led me out of the room.

"She's healing. But she's still very ill. You cannot end up getting sick."

"I do not care if I'm sick. I need to see her."

"No."

I sighed. "Please? I'm begging you."

He sighed. "I will give you some herbs to help with your immune system. You can have ten minutes."

I nodded, going back in. "Can I have everyone out?"

Everyone left. I went to the bed, sitting in a chair next to it. I rested my hand on my wife's. She stirred from her sleep, looking over.

"Steve?"

"Hi." I said. She gave me a nervous look.

"You cannot be in here."

"Relax. It's alright."

She sighed. "I am very nervous for what is to happen next. I have not been improving." She whispered.

"You will heal."

"But what if I do not? Will you promise me you'll be there for Laura?"

"Of course I would. But we do not need that. You'll live."

She gave me a sad stare. I moved her hair again.

"You need a braid."

She sat up a little. I moved behind her on the bed. I moved her hair back, braiding it. She had taught me.

Once I was done she rested back a bit. "The baby has been kicking constantly."

I sat back in my chair, resting my hand on her stomach. She weakly guided me to the source.

I smiled. The baby was kicking. I glanced up at my wife.

"Very excited in there."

She nodded, coughing. I sat up, getting her some water.

She relaxed after she got a sip. I set the glass down, giving her a sorry look.

Bruce came in. "Come on Steve." He said.

"A few more minutes." I said. He shook his head.

"I am sorry. You cannot risk anything."

"I do not care what I have to risk."

"Steve...for Laura. Go."

I sighed. "I love you. I'll come visit again."

"I love you too."

Banner looked at me, handing me a bag of herbs. "Go steep these."

I nodded. "When can I come back?"

"Wait until she is healthy. I need to find some herbs that I know will help."

"My brothers wife is great with herbs. What is it? I'll talk to her."

He nodded, writing them down. He handed me the note. I thanked him.

"Go bathe and drink that tea. Then go ask."

~~~
I walked into the lounge room. "Hello Penelope."
"Steve. How's El?"
"She's...she's not doing too well. Bruce has some herbs that would help her...I knew you had knowledge on this."
She took the paper. "Oh...yes. We have some in the forests."
"Really? I can help."
"No. You are far too busy. I will go retrieve them."
"Thank you. I'll be with Laura."
"Alright. And Steve, relax." She said. I nodded.
"She's so ill. I just saw her."
"I know. I've visited after hours just to help her. She wanted to make sure you did not know. She is worried for you."
I gave her a look. "She is such a sneak sometimes."
"She wants what's best."
I nodded. "Thank you for your help."
She nodded. "I'll find you later."
~~~

Penelope came to me. I was on the ground with Laura.

"All of it, here." She said. I stood up, taking the basket.

"Thank you so very much."

She hugged me. "Go to Bruce. I'll watch Laura. Him and Walter will play."

I nodded. "Thank you."

I walked out, going to Bruce.

"Bruce." I said. I handed him the basket.

"Thank you. This will help."

I nodded, glancing over at my sleeping wife across the room. "I hope so."
