In every continent there is one Keeper who had wings, only Antartica still has his. These wings can be seen as many things; a curse, a blessing, a mutation and 'proof' that the Keeper is related to birds. There has been multiple theories and speculations about what their purpose are and why they were there in the first place.
They could be used to fly and how they looked seemed to influenced by mythological and real animal wings of their culture and land.
All of the wings of those who are not Antartica were cut off or burned.
